Reportedly a rainbow appeared over Buckingham Palace as the official
announcement of the Queen's death was being made.

The problem for her family is that they can't get any privacy and will
be forced into seeing her everywhere for decades to come with continual
new documentaries, etc. made, just like they have with the recent Diana
documentary digging it all up yet again. (Any bets on how long the
attrocious bitch Markle will keep her mouth shut on the topic? She has
no respect for anything or anyone, so will definitely be trying to cash
in for her own media shots and whining on about being sidelined because
she's "black", etc.)

Two of the main Freeview TV channels here in New Zealand both dropped
*all* their regular shows last night for a six hour "news special" and
they've restarted going on and on about it again this morning.

'a six hour "news special"'!! Boy, are you getting off easy!!

Our Government financed Free-to-Air T.V. station has been 24 hours a day
for the last, what, two and a half days with no sign of stopping! 'm
hoping they don't keep it up until the Funeral!

Even several of the Commercial Free-to-Air T.V. stations have been 24
hours a day for the last, what, two and a half days with no sign of
stopping!

Of course, they all have subsidiary channels that they can broadcast
their usual rubbish on!

That was simply the first go. It's been going pretty much non-stop
since then with regular programming abandoned. Probably the same on the
Sky TV BBC News channel.

Of course, because it is late changes with no warning, shows set to
record are still recording, but what you get is not that show, but
stuff about the Queen.

No he never did "say the Queen's Christmas broadcat" in 2000, why do you
ask that.

Besides the fact you never give up the opportunity to display your
illiteracy.

You misread the date ... the village idiot said "2000", not "2020". Not
that I can be bothered to check whether that year's speech says it
either. :-)

She mentioned Jesus being a source of inspiration for
her, but nothing about him being "King of her life."

Hmm! I must have an intelligent PVR cause, although I have it set up to
record our 7:00p.m. National news every night, it decided NOT to record

My bad, however looking at her speech in 2000 she did not say it either
so binky continues to make Jesus cry with his lies.

There is no hell or Devil, only for those who need fear to be "good".

Making a mistake is not lying binky boy and she did not state that
Christ was the King of her life.

Now that is a lie, where I made a mistake and admit I made a mistake.
Too bad you will never do the same.

Not really. Lots of things can be a source of inspiration.
Most of them aren’t Kings of someone’s life (whatever
that means.)

No. In it does the Queen describe Jesus as the “King of
her life”? If not, it isn’t really relevant.

It would depend on how qucikly the on-screen guide is / can be updated
and how you get your TV (i.e. over-air broadcast, internet connection,
etc.). With last minute changes, it's not possible for the guide to be
updated, so the recorder doesn't know there has been a programme change
and simply thinks it is recording the correct show.

It also depends on how good the data entry team on that on-screen guide
are. Sky TV's data entry team are pretty hopeless, so we often get an
incorrect episode recorded (e.g. we set it to record the 5:00pm
episodes, but sometimes it will also record the 11:00am reruns -
whoever did the data entry has included the re-runs in the same 'code'
as the 5:00pm episodes).

In this particular case, I don't use the Electronic Guide, just manually
set it up to record 7:00p.m. 30 min, ABC1, every night.

And, of course, some channels (especially the Commercial ones) will
start their programs an undisclosed number of minutes early/late so once
you start on that channel you are, sort of, locked in for the night!!

Yeah!! One of our multi-cultural channels has the habit of running a
film ten-fifteen times with-in a week, so, if you're not thinking when
setting up your recording schedule, you could get ten-fifteen recordings
of the same film ..... and which could also restrict your ability to
record stuff you actually want!!

Since it doesn't care what the show is, only the time, you should have
got that 7:00 recording no matter what was on.

Our Sky TV recorder only records programmes rather than allowing
specific times. It always starts recording 5mins before the scheduled
time and finishes 10mins after the scheduled time, but you can extended
the end further on scheduled recordings to allow for overruns of
previous shows. There are also some setings which may well let you
change those minutes, but it's been once that we missed the end of a
show (which luckily was recorded by the start of the next one anway),
so I've never bothered to look at them.

We also have an issue with the live lottery draw which happens within a
show's scheduled time, so that show gets recorded as two parts. Why
they can't move the draw until after the show is beyond all senisble
comprehension - it's always a 1 hour show that gets split at about the
3/4ths point. :-\

My thoughts exactly .... but, for some reason, IT decided to skip the
session!!

My PVR has that function as well (Start/Finish, early/late), but that
means if I'm recording two consecutive programs that takes up all my
recording ability!!

Yeap, that "Next recording getting the end of previous recording"
function comes in handy!!

Our current Sky TV box used to be able to record two shows at the same
time, plus doing "live" recording (to be able to pause and rewind the
currently airing show, on a rolling 1hour basis), plus you can be
watching another pre-recorded show at the same time.

That got a software upgrade a couple of years ago to be able to recored
three shows at the same time, plus the live recording and watching a
pre-recorded show.

The new up-coming Sky TV box can record five shows at the same time,
plus the live recording and watching a pre-recorded show.

We tend to find it a bit annoying. If we record two consequetive shows,
and thn decide to watch the second show first, you often end up
accidentally seeing the end of the first show, even if you fast
forward. When you watch a recorded show, it automatically starts
playing at the 5min mark to skip the front-padding, but that's often
not quite enough to avoid the previous show.

Maybe, but if they had originally simply scheduled the lottery draw a
little earlier or later, it wouldn't have to interrupt a show. Nobody
would have known the difference because that would be the time it's
always on anyway ... instead some fool purposely decided it had to be
mid-show. :-\

We have two live lottery draws - one on Saturday and one on Wednesday.
The Wednesday one is fine, but the Saturday one interrupts another
show. (There also used to be a daily draw for a different lottery type,
but that was just a quick thing taking up a spot in an advert break. I
haven't seen it in a while, so they may have stopped doing it, then
again we just fast forward through all the adverts anyway.)
