Mind you, in forty-odd years time the morons will be having their

Selling his crappy "artworks" doesn't actually count as self-employed anyway.

You don't need the ciomplication of torrent. Just use a proxy/VPN
server and watch it on the BBC's streaming service. There are also
numerous regular "naughty web" sites that will have it to watch or
download from within minutes of it being posted on the BBC site.

Including the Doctor Who binaries Usenet group which had The Power of
the Doctor up (in multiple parts) on Monday...

That's still extra complication - you have to download and reassemble
the parts.

It's far easier to use a normal web browser to simply stream the video
(as well as be able to download it if you want to keep a copy, although
admitedly that can be a bit complicated depending on how the server
works).

From next year Disney+ is the BBC's legitimate partner for Doctor Who
outside of the UK and Ireland...

It's fairly easily done these days, one or two clicks if you've the

No, it will depend on whether the deal is a success for the BBC or not.

It has absolutely nothing to do with RTD. It is a marketing deal made
by the BBC management.

And you use a newsserver that has the binary newsgroups. Many don't,
especially the free ones.

The website options are easily available to anyone ... although I'd
strongly advise having really good anti-malware and ad blocking
software installed on your device (especially if you use Microsloth
Windoze).

Unlikely, they are not making the show. As I understand it, it's a
streaming deal. Bad Wolf are making Doctor Who.

They are there, but they are few and far between... AND they are often
frowned upon by the Usenet bourgeoisie. Say Neo Dome out loud and see
the Sheriff's come along on their horses...

Paid Usenet services do give better binary options though.

Yes.

No "expensive TV advertising" because the ABC was Government (read 'from
our taxes') so didn't carry advertising "of products/services"

Although they did/do promote their other programs.

If I wasn't watching the ABC, you would be right ..... which is why I
usually watch the ABC directly and record the Commercial stations programs!

Forty (40) is the number that follows 39 and precedes 41. Though it's
related to the number “four” (4), the modern spelling of 40 is forty.
The older form, fourty, is treated as a misspelling today. The modern
spelling could reflect a historical pronunciation change.

Ah, I didn't realise it was like the BBC.

Here in New Zealand we have the TVNZ network (runs a few channels)
which is government *owned*, but is meant to run as a self-sustaining
profit-making business, so does have product advertising.

A proper ISP business run by one moron and his family from their
basement wouldn't last more than 10 seconds. At best it would be have
to be one of those lazy reseller systems where a middle man makes
profit at customer expense, instead of the customer going direct to the
real ISP provider.

Either way, it's not a proper business.

As well as 'Our ABC", here we also have the (largely) Government funded
Special Broadcasting Service, SBS, which is multi-cultural and does
carry some commercial advertising, too!

Then we have the Commercial Networks, Seven, Nine and Ten, which carry
heaps and heaps of advertising!
