Were you trying to make sure that people who had killfiled the
principals would see this?

Fine. I don't have any ready figures for the ratio of deaths to cases
before the vaccines were developed, but I just went to Worldometers and
divided the total American COVID dead by the total number of American
COVID cases and got 1.55%. (Canada is a little better at 1.46%.) Of
course, that includes both vaccinated and unvaccinated cases. A better
though still not perfect measure would be the ratio for the world as a
whole, since the world as a whole has a lower vaccination rate.
Dividing the total known COVID dead by the total known COVID cases for
the world yields 1.92%. So being off by a factor of 100 doesn't bother
some people.

One in every -- *every* -- 394 Americans is dead because of this
disease. The Canadians are doing noticeably better at 1 in every 1272.
Presumably Canadians don't go around breathing on one another as much as
Americans do. Of course, that's spread over two years, but it's still
instructive to point out that seasonal influenza killed 1 in 56,234
Americans in 2019, the last "normal" season we had for influenza.
Anyone still trying to tell you that COVID is just like the flu is
trying to sell you a toxic waste dump as just an easy fixer-upper.
