Now why would Biden do that? Maybe preventing a possible future investigation of himself from digging too deep by doing this now?

I'm not reading it because I've read other articles. Obviously you
didn't read it either.

Biden is NOT shielding Trump nor covering up Trump's possible criminal
wrongdoing. The investigative committee served an overly broad supeona
for disclosure that included massive numbers of documents that had
nothing whatsoever to do with encouraging the attack on the Capitol, and
Biden isn't giving it to Congress.

It would behoove you to follow your own advice, Kerman. Resident Joke Biden
is not extending Execuitive Privilidge to Trump documents, further damaging
this country.
