I found these on the Internet, posted anonymously. I can't ask the
writers for their permission. But they're too good not to share.
(I've made minor edits.)

You pick a phrase, you pick a rhyme,
Repeat the sound another time,
Five iambs, then an extra beat will do ya.
Another rhyme, a rising note -
Congratulations, you just wrote
Another goddamn verse to Hallelujah.

Away out west, they have a name
For rain and wind and fire;
The rain is "rain", the wind is "wind",
And they call the fire, "fire".

The first one is new to me, but I've seen the second somewhere, quite a
long time ago.

the second one I also recall from as far back as before teen age years and I think there was maybe more to it.

it is a parody of They Call the Wind Maria from 1965 so the parody probably dates to around then.

That song is from the musical Paint Your Wagon, from 1951. The movie
was released in 1969.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_Call_the_Wind_Maria

I remember a few other lyrics:

Away out west they have some names, for certain lurking hoodoos,
Like Yog-Sototh and Azathoth, but they call the boss Cthulhu.

and

Away out west they have some names for wind and rain and killers
The wind is Tess, the rain is Joe, but they call the beast Godzilla.

I probably mis-remember both of those.

There's a full song with something like those lyrics. I thought it was
in Xeno but can't find it in the index.

To be fair the second is so obvious that it's probably been
independently invented several times.

I think it was in Filthy Pierre's Microfilk but my copy is long gone. I
do half-remember another couple lines:

Godzilla kicks Japan around, sends Tokyo a-flyin',
Godzilla makes the ruins sound like hordes of people dyin'.

Or something like that.

I have a barely legible PDF of his microfilk. It is in there. It's
"Godzilla" by Fred Kuhn.

The Cthulhu tune is also there, by John Taylor.

There are other titles to the same tune. As near as I can make out
they are: Atilla, Pariahs, & T'kere.

And people are right: what I posted is obvious. But I first ran
across it very recently and laughed quite a bit. (A joke doesn't
become old until you've heard it.)
