Saaheb passed away......

likhi hai. Ise yahaaN pesh kar raha hooN......

Hai fana anjaam, har koi fana ho jaayega
Ik na ik din neeNd ab'di oRH kar so jaayega

Jo yahaaN aata hai us ko lauT kar jaana bhi hai
Ghoom phir kar duniya ke mele us ko ghar jaana bhi hai

Adna ho a'ala ho, koi Hukm'raaN ho ya GHulaam
Maut se do~chaar hone waala hai har KHaas-o-'aam

Aati jaati saaNson ka ik silsila hai zindagi
Tairta aab-e-rawaaN par bulbula hai zindagi

Zindagi sab kuchh hai, lekin zindagi kuchh bhi naheeN
Jo hamesha hi rahe, woh zindagi milti naheeN

Aaj kal parsooN, kisi bhi waqt yeh aa sakti hai

Dekhne, sunne men aayee har Taraf se yeh KHabar

Zindagi ne maan li hai maut se aah apni haar

Zehn-o-dil maaoof se haiN, aur aaNkheN ashk'baar

KHoob thi woh Devika Rani ki nazr-e-intiKHaab
Ik sitaara DHooNda misl-e-aaftaab-o-maahtaab

Ik naya naam un ko de kar, yooN kiya un ka shumaar
Jo the Yousuf Khan, un ko kar diya Dil-eep Kumar

Afzal sahib,

aadaab,

I appreciate you taking the time to type up and share this nazm with us. I had not read anything by Niyaaz Jairajpuri in the past, a new name for me. In this nazm, the poet has effectively expressed the sentiments of a lot of admirers of Dilip Kumar.
There are 'vazn' issues that put several misraas out of meter, can be easily fixed if someone is inclined to do so.

Thanks once again, looking forward to your next installment on Dilip Kumar. No rush, whenever.
