I've never heard of the first two movies. I have an underwater movie
playlist (Deep Star 6, Leviathan, Deep Rising and The Abyss) I'm looking
forward to watching. But of the 4 movies I only have two on disc.
Leviathan is only available to stream but that streaming availability
ends on 4/30. I'm playing a dangerous game of chicken hoping the stream
option gets renewed after 4/30. While The Abyss is also only available
to stream, I'm holding out hope for a promised 4K release which at the
moment is only vaporwear. But if things work out the way I *hope* they
work out, I'll have all 4 when I need them in a few months.

On Monday I did a bit of catching up and watched:

The Equalizer - "Vox Populi" - McCall does a bit of jury tampering, or
close to it, to prove a man innocent.

The Endgame - "All That Glitter" - Episode from last week. Discussed in
a separate thread. Anyone think the the possibility that "clone" meant
the woman would be replaced with an imposter?

"Beauty and the Beast" - The President of the United Starts, no matter
how dirty he is, is not going to *personally" torture someone and his
secret service agents are not going to personally murder someone and
bury the body! I'm sure the President has off the books people for that
sort of thing.

9-1-1 - "FOMO" - Social media disasters. Although I don't think the
story of the women and her daughters fit this week's theme.

Better Call Saul - "Rock and Hard Place" - Another good episode of the
Adventures of Gus, the chicken man. For some reason a character named
Saul kept popping up in Gus' show.

LOL! I remember as a kid watching reruns of Lost in Space and seeing
stuff from Voyage in it. I didn't really watch reruns of Voyage, but
the reuse was obvious.

I haven't watched it in decades either. The Abyss and True Lies have
been seriously done wrong by Cameron. But supposedly The Abyss is
getting a 4K release in a few months.

I have movie playlists put together well into 2023. But I don't have
any submarine movies on that list. But I definitely do have some
submarine movies I want to marathon. I think I listed them a while back
and at the time I didn't have all the movies I wanted to watch so it's
hold until I get them all. A lot of times my movie playlists aren't so
much dictated by what I already have in my collection, it's dictated by
what randomly pops up on cable or streaming which allows me to complete
my watchlist.

There are several different movies called Leviathan. The one I'm
talking about is the 1989 schlockfest starring Peter Weller. It has the
exact same plot as Deep Star 6. Don't ask me what happens in which
movie, because I don't know. They are totally interchangeable!
Leviathan, Deep Star 6 and The Abyss all came out in 1989, piggying back
off of each other. But I've never watched all three or even two of them
back to back. Comcast says Leviathan is available to stream for free in
SD on Tubi and HD on Pluto TV. But they both end on 4/30. I'm just
hoping that on 5/1 it will still be there in HD with a new end date.
That's already happened once when it was scheduled to leave streaming
last month, but it's still there.

He never released it on blu-ray. And the only DVD option in the U.S. is
nonamorphic. Both the Abyss and True Lies have only ever been available
on nonanamorphic wide screen DVD!!!! Unless you count the full frame TV
option. Or laser disc. :-/

Does Cameron have control or veto power of disc releases? I would think
that would be under the studio's control.

He apparently has some sort of control or veto power. The blame has
been squarely on his shoulders for years and he's publicly never denied
it. In fact he's explicitly said it's on him.

"Yeah, we finished the transfer and I wanted to do it myself because
Mikael [Salomon] did such a beautiful job with the cinematography on
that film." And "So I just recently finished the high-def transfer a
