Yes, I think BTR inferred a comma after 'why'. I didn't, but I answered
what I think he meant.

I *dis*believe the misapplication of logic that says a President can't
establish some gross -- i.e., non-judicial, such as race or gender --
priorities in selecting a SCOTUS nominee. An objection on such grounds
might have some merit if imposing those "external" qualifications cut
the number of candidates from, say, 20 to 10, but not from 2000 to 1000.

I would like to revisit this then. There seems to be some kind of mass
insanity going on here, or mass confusion at the very least. Derp was
whining about Biden's criterion for a black woman getting appointed to
SCOTUS. You smartly countered with Ronnie Alzheimer's specifically
appointing a woman, who of course was white. Derp whined again. "Why,
was it different when Reagan did it?" appeared to be the followup you
were trying to ask. Chaos ensued, for no valid reason, and here we are.

How am I wrong?

P.S. I would like to quote my all time favorite rock band, Procol Harum,
now:

Above all else, confusion reigns
And though I ask, no one explains
My eunuch friend has been and gone
He said that I must soldier on
And though the ferris wheel spins 'round
My tongue it seems has run the ground
And croaks as my befuddled brain
Shines on brightly, quite insane

Well, fwiw the original sin does appear to have been BTR's, when he
wrongly characterized 'black woman' as Biden's "single most important
criterion". Lots of mostly unrelated miscommunication ensued...
