Actually, it *was* a dramatic moment in English history: the successor
to the throne and his younger brother were held captive in the Tower of
London and never seen again. It was widely believed that they were
murdered but other theories abounded. The man who put them in the Tower
of London, who was the regent at the time (temporary ruler until a young
heir was old enough) started ruling as King Richard III. It was a
pivotal moment in the War of the Roses and Richard III's death a couple
of years later marked the end of that war and the start of the Tudor
dynasty.
