That's what I was worried about when I got my 2014 Nissan last summer.
It's got about 109 HP which is only a little more than my first car, a
1974 Datsun with 90 hp. But it's also somewhat lighter than cars 40
years ago, so it does a little better at going up hills. Can scoot
through intersections pretty well too.

For sure. I don't drive a lot so the 2001 Impala I had only got about 22
mpg, maybe 28 on a trip. This one gets at least 31 around town, and 36
long distance.
