I'm sure that in a family melodrama, one could get up and go hold the
hand of the parent that was now parentless, but I didn't grow up in that
kind of family either.

I went to my 20th because I was already in town on family business
anyway. It was O.K. I actually talked with some of the people I
remembered favorably. But it's not worth making a special trip to
Florida for. The three schoolmates that I was close to have all passed
away.

I'm a few years too young to remember it first-run. A collector friend
sent ma a package of "crusader" DVDs a few years ago, which included
most of _For the People_, a few of _The Reporter_, and three of
_Slattery's People_ (probably transfers from 16mm film, but copied
down). If I can find where they're packed away, I could hook you up.

I liked that about Beverly Garland's _Decoy_ and Darren McGavin's
_Mike Hammer_ as well. There was actually some footage of the original
Penn Station in them.

Thanks very much, but that's 'way too much trouble to take. Appreciate
the thought.
