All last evening 7/22/2022 I heard on the news the talking heads
discussing the imporantance of the UN-brokered deal in Turkey that will
allow Ukraine to resume grain shipments through the Black Sea to the rest
of the world, to alleviate starvation due to the grain shortage and
resulting extremely high prices.

The UN truly knows what it's doing! This fantastic success will set up a
mechanism for the two warring parties to reach a peace settlement!

Less than a day later, Russia launched four cruise missiles at Odesa.
Two struck port facilities; two were shot down.

Now, I think that's a clear signal that Putin has no intention of
implementing a cease fire to allow grain shipments to resume, at least
with respect to the Black Sea, and has absolutely no interest in
negotiations. Peace can be achieved only as a result of the rest of the
world thwarting Putin's aggressive actions to expand Russian territory
in a series of wars since 1990.

But that's just me. The diplomats declared that the peace negotiations
were hugely successful. They are professionals and must know what they
are doing.

In another aspect of Putin's current war, two days ago, I saw videos
announcing that at least one unnamed country had gotten definitive word
from Russia that gas and oil exports to that country would stop and NOT
resume. The country was unnamed but widely understood to be Germany.
Yesterday, I found news stories that celebrated the resumption of energy
flows to Germany! Inside sources had confirmed that gas and oil flows
had indeed resumed. I don't know what to make of this. Did Putin's
minions actually declare that energy flows would not be resumed two days
ago to make the Germans panic and then allow the flow to start again,
just to demonstrate his power? Or was the reporting itself completely
erroneous?

As for the grain shipment ceasefire, I wonder what the exact details of
the ceasefire were? I know the Ukrainians had carefully mapped
minefields set up around their ports, especially Odesa, to stop the
Russians from attempting to invade by sea. Did the ceasefire involve the
Ukrainians revealing the location of the safe lanes in the minefields to
Russia? I so, then the whole exercise may have simply been a ploy by the
Russians so that they could launch the naval invasion. Still, I find it
unlikely that the Ukrainians would have been that trusting given what
Russia's been doing to them since 2014!

Well obviously Putin will be ENTIRELY supportive of Ukrainian grain
exports if all the rail lines out of Ukraine and all her ports have
been shut down by Russian military efforts!

(Yes that's sarcasm and yes I entirely agree with you)

Interesting, not a single motherfucking thing you said in either
sentence is accurate. Even Derp knows this and he's an idiot.

Nonsense.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bf/2022_Russian_Invasion_of_Ukraine_Phase_2_animated.gif

Putin may have intended on conquering all of Ukraine but we've seen that the Russians
are incompetent and it appears they now want to hang on to Crimea, the Donbas and the
north coast of the Sea of Azov.
