I hope aliens who encounter humans are more civilized.

I still wonder if there are any aliens close enough to matter. We've
been broadcasting for more than a century, but no one's dropped by.
Our signals become unintelligible after about 1.5 lightyears, but
they're still out there, still traveling. Further, a natural object
putting out as much RF as we Earthlings do would have to be several
trillions of degrees hot. That alone ought to attract some notice,
even if passing aliens didn't use radio themselves.

Of course, there are people who think we're already under alien
surveillance, but I'm not one of those people.

The Norwegian DNR could have zapped it with a cattle prod and after a couple
of times, it would avoid people.
