Of course it was, Donkey. That's how all of the local listings papers are distributed: laundry mats, grocery stores, hotel lobbies, bars, etc.

Visitors pick them up, leaf through them looking for restaurant/bar ads, make their dinner plans, then toss the papers aside.

Businessmen looking for restaurants/bars have no interest in Will Donkey's rambling reminiscences about "Shadowville," Kathy, Barfield and Dark Queen, nor in your equally rambling (and even less coherent) monthly poem.

You provided filler to a local ad circular for twenty years. Whoop-de-damn-do.

Michael Pendragon
"and you know… that over the years, I HAVE come really
close to 'converting' to negrohood... remember in the early 1980s
when I hated white folks and all that?"
-- Will Dockery, on racism and "negrohood."

I had a few thousand readers a month, easily, which is more in one month than you've /ever/ had, Pendragon, I know that must sting.

An archive of several issues of Playgrounds, found of the Facebook page:

There's a good archive of the last few issues of Playgrounds Magazine there, scans of each page:

You're expected to tear down anything I achieve, Pendragon, that's what makes you a malicious enemy of mine.

HTH and HAND.

No, Donkey, the circular had a few thousand browsers, and the local restaurants may have had some extra business (although there are other papers with other ads, not to mention the White Pages, so one can never really know how directly responsible any circular was). A few thousand cat boxes were lined with your "Magic Store" column, and a few thousand fish were wrapped in your monthly poem.

But even if you had a million readers, it would not give me reason to experience any sort of "sting."

You might recall that I advised GD to publish your poetry book through Amazon -- even though we were enemies at the time. The success of another does not diminish my work.

Or, as in this case, your lack of success does not enhance my work.

You're mistaken, Donkey.

As I stated several days ago, I do not make it a practice to belittle anyone else's achievements, regardless of their diminutive size. It was only after having been subjected to several of your troll posts wherein you claimed that your "accomplishments" far outweighed those of the rest of us, that I decided to put your literary "career" into its proper perspective.

IOW: You brought this upon yourself.

Bravo, Doc... you indeed have a fine group of art works, music and poetry....
