There seems to be a double standard when it comes to crimes committed
against the 'progressive' elite in California.

I know, I know, who would have expected that powerful Democrats would be
treated differently than everyone else? It truly is a shocker, right?

Karen Bass, the corrupt congresswoman who's now running for L.A. mayor,
had her home broken into recently and several guns taken.

(Oddly, she's been an anti-gun politician for most of her political
career. She doesn't want you and me to own guns, but she owns guns
herself. Who's surprised that yet another 'progressive' hypocrisy has
been exposed? Anyone? Bueller?)

Strangely, the thieves seemed to know exactly where the guns were-- in a
hidden safe-- and went right to them, ignoring cash, jewelry, and other
valuables. Only the guns were taken.

In the aftermath, the LAPD initiated a full-court press to catch the
thieves. My girlfriend on the Robbery/Homicide squad was actually the
lead detective on the case and the word came down from the chief, who
was in turn told by the mayor, that the case was a high priority and
took precedence over all her other cases, some of which are, you know,
murders. But that's not as important as a prominent Democrat being
burgled, I guess.

This is in stark contrast to the treatment most average burglary victims
get under the reign of Gascon, who are told by the cops that as long as
no one was physically hurt, they won't even send a cop out to take a
report. The citizen can come to police station and file one and is told
there's very little that can or will be done to catch the perpetrators
because even if they're caught, per Gascon's directives, they won't be
prosecuted because it's 'just' property crime and not a valid reason for
locking anyone up.

Anyway, the girlfriend did her job and within days had tracked down the
two shitbags who committed the burglary and once again we find them
being treated *very* differently than all other burglars under the rule
of Gascon. Other burglaries without violence, Gascon automatically
declines prosecution outright. Not so here. Gascon has fully suspended
all his directives and hug-a-thug policies for Karen Bass.

He not only accepted charges, he filed the highest charges possible.
Bail? Most thugs caught doing this-- if they are arrested at all-- are
immediately released RoR. Not so here. One is being held on a half
million dollar bond, the other was denied bail altogether.

So the lesson here is if you want effective police protection and
zealous prosecution of anyone who commits crime against you in Los
Angeles, you have to be a powerful Democrat politician. Anyone else can
shut up and go fuck themselves.

She's got civil service protection and vested retirement. She's already
looking for the next thing and planning accordingly. I don't say
anything here that (1) isn't public record, and (2) she doesn't know
about and approve of.

But I'm glad you acknowledge how corrupt the Democrat-run government is
here, in that a cop who points out the different treatment Democrat
politicians vs average citizens get from the city and county governments
would be in danger of losing her job. That'd be blatant corruption on

It turns out there were video cameras monitoring the outside of the Pelosi
home that had been installed more than eight years ago. It's just that
when Nancy Pelosi isn't at home, Capitol Police don't watch the video
feed. That's amazingly stupid.

Capitol Police have live feeds from 1800 cameras with too few personnel
to watch. The video feed at the Pelosi home caught no one's attention
till flashing lights from squad cars of local police were seen. Only
then did Capitol Police notice that they had recorded video footage of
the break in itself.

There was discussion of this on C-SPAN Washington Journal this morning
11/2/2022. A caller pointed out the obvious that plenty of homeowners
who aren't prominent elected public officials pay for home monitoring of
the video feed.

Yes, I agree that reporters should have been a hell of a lot more
skeptical when the story first broke. I saw the video of that first press
conference given by police and what the police said about who had the
hammer was incoherent and off the wall bizarre. Now the story is that
the attacker broke the glass window on the patio door with the hammer.

Paul Pelosi told the attacker he had to use the bathroom. In the
bathroom, he was able to call 911 and left the line open. The dispatcher
overheard the two men and sent police to the home.

Police arrived within two minutes. They knocked on the front door. The
door was opened. They witnessed both men struggling for the hammer,
ordered the men to drop the hammer, then witnessed the attacker grab the
hammer and use it to crack Paul Pelosi's skull. Police tackled the
attacker, then aided Pelosi and called for the ambulance.

The attack makes Nancy Pelosi look bad. Given how seriously she claimed
she took the January 6, 2021, security breaches at the Capitol, she sure
hasn't fixed the problem with the U.S. Capitol Police even when the
security of her home and her husband are at risk.

The very idea Capitol Police installed all those security cameras and

Members of the Pelosi family were given the opportunity to listen to
the 911 call and view body camera footage from the Oct. 28 attack on
Paul Pelosi, according to the San Francisco District Attorney Brooke
Jenkins, who also signaled that the materials won't be shared with the
public any time soon.

The meeting with the Pelosi family regarding the evidence was scheduled
for Wednesday, Jenkins said, emphasizing that the attack on Pelosi had

(D-CA). DePape allegedly told authorities he wanted to break "her
kneecaps" if the speaker did not tell him the "truth." At one point,
Paul Pelosi managed to slip away and made a call to police.

Responding officers later witnessed DePape striking Paul Pelosi with a
hammer, per authorities. Paul Pelosi, who is 82, was sent to a hospital
to receive treatment for a "skull fracture and serious injuries to his
right arm and hands," a spokesperson for his wife said.

"Paul is making steady progress on what will be a long recovery
process," Nancy Pelosi said Monday. The speaker was not in San
Francisco at the time of the attack, but her office announced she was
returning shortly afterward.

DePape's criminal history provided law enforcement with nothing to
suggest "that would have led anybody to believe that he was capable of
what he ultimately did," Jenkins said, without providing specifics on
his past.

However, the suspect's online activities have come under scrutiny. He
shared conspiracy theories and extremist viewers on social media about
topics ranging from the Capitol riot to the COVID-19 vaccines,
according to multiple reports.

"This was politically motivated," Jenkins said. "He planned to do
violence against [the speaker], as well as others who are in political
leadership in this state and in this country."

DePape is being held without bond and is due back in court Friday for a
bail hearing.

In addition to the charges from Jenkins, DePape is facing one count of
assault of an immediate family member of a U.S. official and one count
of attempted kidnapping of a U.S. official from federal prosecutors.

U.S. Capitol Police officers were reportedly not monitoring the cameras
around the Pelosi home in San Francisco when the break-in happened
early Friday. The Capitol Police said on Wednesday that it has begun an
internal security review and "will fast-track the work we have already
been doing to enhance the protection of Members outside of Washington,
D.C., while also providing new protective options that will address
concerns following Friday�s targeted attack."

[Funny how we only see police bodycam footage when it harms the police, is
it not? And people wonder why they are so many conspiracy theories floating
out there.]

I suppose that's contradictory. If evidence isn't released to the public
due to an ongoing investigation and shouldn't be released before trial
given the potential to inflame a jury, then why would the prosecutor
make inflammatory statements referring to unssen evidence that could also
inflame a jury?

If they are going to make this claim then the public should be able to
see the footage themselves. Failure to do so says that the story is
