If Will Donkey wrote his monthly column for years, and he was such a draw to the readers, why was he fired from the magazine? It is evidently still being published.

Did his writing the column lead to bigger things in the literary world?

It seems to us, in reading the archives, that Donkey wrote something in his column that threatened to get the magazine sued. Was that the reason he was fired?

Do you think it is odd that, after writing a column for so long, he was not able to get another gig writing a similar column--perhaps in the local newspaper? Wouldn't he have been famous as a writer by then?

Didn't Will Donkey also insult the Prophet here on AAPC? Maybe he insulted the Prophet in Playgrounds magazine also and brought down a fatwa against them? If Playgrounds is only on Facebook now, perhaps they are in hiding? Would the people who issued a fatwa be interested in knowing about 1681 FORESTSIDE DR, COLUMBUS, GA 31907-3342?

Could he be “fired” if he wasn’t technically employed? His wasn’t a paying gig.

Maybe he was fired at? Good point, though, on not being employed at the magazine. Perhaps he was asked not to volunteer his services anymore?

I doubt he was asked. They probably just stopped responding to his requests
for publication. They could only say, “Thanks, but no thanks.”, so many times.

The owners, the Carsons, owned a string of defunct restaurants. Maybe Donkey ate free too many times? However, you know that Donkey likes repetition, so rejections to the thousands wouldn't have kept him from trying to get his column printed. They had to shut down as a last resort?

It’s difficult to believe that one man could have eaten them out of business, but he is a very big man.
