Here’s the interesting thing to me about Lake.

We have a ton of attack ads about her. Up until a week ago they were all
saying she claims she wouldn’t have certified Biden as president etc. Now
all our ads are attack ads and most of them have a clip or a quotation on
screen in quotation marks. About a week ago they redid the Lake attack ads
and they no longer say she said this or that. They changed it to “I heard
Kari Lake is against abortion“
Weasel words like that
Clearly somebody got caught lying and had to backpedal

And her opponent is a complete nightmare.

I don’t know. In theory I vote by mail. In practice my ballots have
disappeared for years. This year it made it through but too late to return
it. I considered going to the polling place but it was already a two hour
wait the first time I checked.

That may well be but a lot of Gen Z voted this time around so it might a
good place to meet young men.

Again - you don't have to keep the voting places longer than scheduled
to ensure all lined up to vote before the appointed close of voting.

As a former poll worker, what they did in OUR poll was when the
closing time of voting came, a poll clerk got in line and the outside
door was locked. They then encouraged those in line outside the
polling room (an elementary school gymnasium) to snake the line into
the gymnasium then locked the gym door and only let people leave. No
ballot counting took place until all voters had voted and left the
building.

Neither of the times I did it did it take more than 90 minutes with
1500 votes to be hand counted and each ballot counted 3 separate times
to ensure the same result was received. Then about 20-30 minutes more
for the poll captain to certify and have their certification
witnessed, the original copy of the sworn declaration sealed in the
boxes (along with the voters' list showing who had and hadn't voted),
the boxes sealed and bundled into the minivan for transport to
headquarters. And somewhere along the way the scrutineers and staff
thanked for their efforts.

These boxes I'm told were destroyed 30 days after the election except
for those with as yet uncompleted recounts

It's simply not that difficult a process! A small adding machine with
2" paper tape was used but that was the only mechanical or
computational equipment in use.

I wondered about that as well. Maybe because it's illegal in AZ to be made to
stand outside for long periods of time?
