I was saddened to read about the death of Kevin Conroy. He was the last
great voice artist in animation in which a voice actor and not celebrity
actor was hired to create teh character.

He's best known for playing Batman in Batman The Animated Series,
1992-93, 65 episodes. The show was somewhat inconsistently animated as
it was contracted out to several studios to create all those episodes in
one season. Nevertheless, the scripts were generally good and Conroy's
voice characterization was terrific.

Sorry to hear that as to me he is/was Batman. I wonder if his illness
was the reason so many other people had been stepping in to the role
the past few years. While they did an okay job none of them were quite
as good as Conroy.

He looked like hell on that live action multi-verse crossover show. I guess

Great! There's nothing wrong with an actor who has a "face for radio"
or if an actor can still do the voice but may be too sick to perform
on television or in a movie. I would still rather have dedicated voice
actors who can perform the character because they've got a great voice,
even though that allows William Conrad to play Matt Dillon.

I just don't want celebrity actors in a voice cast at all. They get paid
way way way too much and for the most part aren't nearly as good.

We need more Kevin Conroys.
