They've maintained they're majority in the Senate, now the House is yet
to be determined. The "red wave" turned out to be a red exercise in
being limp.

The Democrats do not have a "majority" in the Senate. There are 100 seats,
the Democrats have 50, Republicans have 49 and the Georgia seat will be
decided in December. Unfortunately for America, Kamala Harris breaks any
ties in favor of the Democrats.

America does have one faint long-shot hope. Since Biden just announced that he is
going to shut down every coal mine in America, Joe Manchin, the Senator from
West Virginia might switch to Republican.

This lying is beneath you, not-Irish Mike. In the Senate in case of an
even split, the majority party is the one with the vice president. It's
in the Constitution.

Very little coal is burned in America, not-Irish Mike. It's been
supplanted by natural gas from fracking. The transition happened very
very quickly, mostly during the Obama administration. When Trump claimed
he was going to revive coal production, he was denying reality. Biden
isn't shutting down coal production. Again, that would be the economics
of burning coal versus burning natural gas that's done it.

When will not-Irish Mike admit that he got his election predictions very
very wrong? I actually agreed with your predictions before the election.
I thought the Democratic Party was going to get punished for the
economy, but it didn't happen. My prediction was wrong.

If Republicans had acted like Republicans of olde, they'd have won far
more close races than they did. Instead, Republicans went out of their
way to nominate Trump sycophants who almost entirely proved to be
unelectable and huge losers even to certain lousy candidates Democrats
had nominated. In fact, there were districts that leaned Republican that
Democrats won, that's how bad the Republican nominees were.

Oh, and maybe Republican state legislatures will have finally learned
that women will no longer sit on their hands when it comes to taking
away abortion rights. There were statewide referendums in five different
states. The abortion restriction side lost all five. It's been a truly
bad strategy.

Let's see if Kevin McCarthy can prove that Republicans have what it
takes to govern, but you know what? He's going to have a very difficult
time keeping his conference together 'cuz Marjorie Taylor Greene and her
like-minded thinkers are going to demand provisions in legislation that
will make it hell for Republicans to retain seats in numerous swing
districts in 2024.

>Irish Mike

No, you're not.
