Laura Harring is breathtakingly beautiful.

I was in the mood for this movie and spotted a Criterion Collection copy
at the library.

It's still in 1.85:1. I have read that it was initially released to
theaters with a plea to projectionists to frame the movie to account for
the fact that most of it was 4:3 aspect ratio as it was filmed as a
pilot for ABC. The added scenes to finish the movie for theatrical
release were in 1.85:1.

I've never seen it in 4:3. Have any of you?

Every time I drive Mulholland Drive, I think, you know, I really oughta watch
MULHOLLAND DRIVE sometime. Still haven't gotten around to it.

You're missing out. David Lynch has filmed Laura Harring as an iconic
screen presence, like Ursula Andress arising from the Carribean Sea at
Crab Key in Dr. No. Naomi Watts, in her first major role, is adorable.

When Lynch couldn't get ABC to air the tv pilot and he was offered
monies from a French studio to film new footage for a theatrical
release, he added the erotic scenes that never would have been broadcast
on American television. The nudity is spectacular.

Lemme know what your opinion of the plot is, 'cuz everyone has his own
interpretation.

On Mulholland Drive, you've never encountered a very beautiful but
troubled woman and found yourself in the middle of a film noir plot? I
thought that was a common occurence in L.A.

This was a movie that I didn't "get" all all, and have had no desire to
revisist...

I keep driving around at night, narrating to myself as I go, hoping to find
some noir, but so far, no luck.

I can't say it's a bad movie and i'm glad I watched it once but I have no
desire to watch it again either. It's very Twin Peaks-ish which isn't my
cup of tea either.
