It's a suburb of Baltimore. "Not Dundalk" was a hoax Worldcon bid in the
'90s or '80s, I don't recall exactly when.

I once received an e-mailed monthly newsletter from my then ISP,
dated, both in the masthead, and the metadata, a year before I
received it. I had received the newsletters around it at the
appropriate times.

Yes. Being discussed in e-s.support. Evidently they're popping up all
over the place. Some providers are rejecting them based on age, others
(including e-s) don't have such a rule.

I've deleted about a dozen here today.

Nor have I seen any via news.individual.net - they may be rejecting

Ah, so that's what's happening. I use newshosting.com and I only
see evidence of the defunct threads when somebody here replies
to one. Shades of "The Waveries"...

Moving right along, I'm still wondering what is/was Dundalk. Does
anybody know, or is it a _hapax legomenon_?

A little far to be a suburb, according to Google Maps. :)

Okay, thanks. I gather the reference is even older than the

As I posted yesterday, it's a suburb of Baltimore. "Not Dundalk" was
a hoax Worldcon bid in the '90s or '80s, I don't recall exactly when.

Kevrob was joking when he said it was a little far to be a suburb.
If you followed his link, it shows a map showing the distance between
Baltimore, Ireland and Dundalk, Ireland. They're about as far apart
as any two places in Ireland can be.

I of course meant that Dundalk, Maryland was a suburb of Baltimore,
Maryland. It was the Maryland suburb that the "Not Dundalk" Worldcon
bid was referring to.

Since you didn't see my post, hence might not see this one, I'm CCing
this post to you.
