Tried to open it and the first thing I do is get an interrupt
“let’s add details to your profile“
No escape options

So first I have to give them my birthdate. It has an incredibly cumbersome
interface that looks like a spin dial locker combination with three
columns, one for month, one for day, one for year. It starts with the
current date so one click at a time you have to go back down through to set
your correct birthdate. When I get down to my year it just keeps going by
itself until it gets to the beginning of the 20th century. And then I have
to click all the way back up again. Hundreds of clicks.

*this will be used for purposes consistent with the Netflix privacy
statement. By continuing you agree to our terms of use.

Finally I get to the second page, select your gender
Woman
Man
None of the above or prefer not to say

Yes by now I am pissed off and I choose the last one

This is the same crap that got me to cancel Disney!

I am guessing today is the first day of my new ad supported Netflix. I
actually logged in to see if there were any changes. So far I don’t see
any.

I do have a bunch of new notifications though telling me stuff like a show
arrived October 7 I wanted to see.

And there’s no way to click off these notifications. So I guess I’m just
going to have a bunch of red dots on my interface till the end of time.

The most recent show is from November 22 OUR UNIVERSE. I click into it to
see if I can get rid of the damn notification dot and push play and it
spins and spins and spins and spins. After three tries of this, none of
which get rid of the notification., it finally launches a couple of
commercials, I sit through those and and finally the show starts. I clicked
back out of it and even watching the show didn’t get rid of the
notification dots. I guess they really are there till the end of time.

I scroll up the left menu and click TV shows and it gives me one option,
snack vs chef, and below it is my list. I try the same thing with movies. I
get one movie and then my list. So the app is hopelessly broken. Well, I
guess it’s OK as long as you don’t want to look at a list of the movies or
a list of the TV shows available to you.

So much for the new ad supported Netflix tier. Now that I know what it
looks like I’ll just cancel the service altogether.

Finally!

Considering the poor interface of The Netflix and the
poor interface of your The Cox DVR, you'd end up spending
more time clicking and unclicking than actually watching
anything that might be under all the massive number of
clicks and notifications.

Free at last?

Nyssa, who is having enough problems with contractors
and vendors to be glad she also doesn't have to deal with
misbehaving online services and DVRs

Today is the first day of this billing cycle. Even if I canceled right now
it wouldn’t take affect until next year. But if it’s still not working
there sure won’t be any point in keeping it.
