Foundation Teaser Trailer Sets Date for Upcoming Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Series

Apple TV+ has finally announced the premiere date for their long-awaited
series adaptation of Foundation, based on Isaac Asimov's iconic and
influential sci-fi books of the same name. The series is scheduled to
make its debut on Friday, September 24 with the first three episodes,
followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.

In addition, the date announcement also came with the release of the
second Foundation teaser trailer which you can check out below,
showcases the sweeping scope and scale of the epic saga. It introduces
Lee Pace's Brother Day as his Galactic Empire is being threatened by
one man's very existence.

In Foundation, when revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the
impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture
to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an
attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by
Hari's claims, the ruling Cleons - a long line of emperor clones - fear
their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they're forced to reckon
with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever.

This monumental journey chronicles the stories of four crucial
individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises,
shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately
determine the fate of humanity.

Based on the books that inspired films such as Star Wars, the 10-episode
series stars Emmy Award nominees Jared Harris (Chernobyl) as Hari
Seldon and Lee Pace (Halt and Catch Fire) as Brother Day along with Lou
Llobell as Gaal Dornick; Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin; Laura Birn as
Demerzel; Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk; Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn;
and Alfred Enoch as Raych.

Foundation is created and executive produced by David S. Goyer, who is
also serving as showrunner. It is a co-production between Apple Studios
and Skydance Television, Executive producers are Robyn Asimov, Josh
Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost.

Originally published as a series of eight short stories in Astounding
Magazine beginning in 1942, the books originally formed a trilogy (which
also includes Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation), but Asimov
wound up completing seven Foundation books before his passing in 1992.

From the trailer it looks like mostly space battles, and the book was mostly people sitting around talking.
