While recovering from a sinus migraine, I watched:

Nothing.

What did you watch?

Hey, thanks for asking!

THE ADVENTURES OF SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON on Freevee

Well I had watched the two movie versions which prompted the streamer to
suggest this to me I guess.

Shouldn’t that title have another “the“ in it?

So in 1835 (wrong year) the Swiss family Robinson (wrong family name) who
live in Boston (what the fuck?) are comprised of John-Boy Walton, a nasty
wife with a New Zealand accent, and three kids (instead of the four in the
book), two of which are girls (all boys in the book) decide to take a wagon
train (too early in history for that) West but end up taking a boat east to
Canton (presumably China although they never say that) which wasn’t the
destination from the book but at least puts them in the Indian Ocean.

The boat is owned by Mrs. Robinsons father who Mr. Robinson works for. The
disreputable crew immediately decides halfway through the voyage to start
rummaging through their luggage and seeing what they could steal. How is
this possibly going to end well? They spot a ship and the distance Although
I don’t know why they’re worried about it. Then there’s a storm and
everybody but the Robinsons goes overboard during the night (I don’t know
why as near as I can tell passengers and disreputable crew all went in the
same long boat). Come in the morning everything‘s fine and there’s a big
island right there that’s apparently played by multiple islands that look
very different. The Robinsons and their one dog (instead of the two in the
book) head for sure. From the images in the series titles I think everybody
that was on the boat is going to show up. The young black cabin boy and the
marriageable Asian beauty show up right away.

The Asian beauty performs the Dr. Smith duties from Space Family Robinson.
The mother is a nasty piece of work I am hoping gets taken down by friendly
fire. Same notation for the youngest daughter. They build a treehouse and
they’re constantly menaced by one of the crew who seems to be hiding in the
jungle about 100 yards away.

30 half hour episodes in 10 batches of three eps each. By the second batch
the natives are showing up in canoes and giant cave temples are being found
and coconut cups are being drunk from and we’re in full Gilligans island
mode.

At least there’s goofy music and a complete act of acting ability to carry
us along.

Oh. And goats. Magic goats. That provide necessary exposition by showing up
and insisting the family follow them when there’s a problem they aren’t
privy to.

I have no idea which character is supposed to be Swiss.

THE LAZARUS EFFECT

Found inadvertently while looking for THE LAZARUS PROJECT.

Boy howdy is this a stink bomb. First time I’ve ever seen Olivia Wilde in
action. It’s basically a remake of pet Sematary (or many other things) with
a bunch of doped up may be college students who think they’re smart but in
fact are just as stupid as the writer of this movie. They find a way to
raise the dead and the wackiness proceeds just as you would expect.

In one amazing scene they need to put one of those little round Band-Aids
on Olivia Wilde‘s temple (where they had been injecting her with a
reanimation drug in the wrong place). In extreme close-up you can watch
them put the Band-Aid on… Backwards. The little cloth insert facing
outward. How did they even do that? It wouldn’t have stuck the wrong way
on. They must’ve actually had to apply glue to the wrong side of the
Band-Aid to make that happen.

A very long workday, so just:

soaps: DOOL - This was all setup for Susan Bank's memorial - at the
end, Johnny catches Ava (in disguise), so I have no idea what's going
to happen now. Meanwhile, thinking it's Kristin in disguise, Brady
kisses Sister May Moira (who now thinks he is the Devil!). And Nosy
Nicole tears into Brady for f***ing Sloan Peterson the slimy lawyer. (I
never got the joke before, but Sloan Peterson must be named after Mia
Sara's character in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"!!)

I also put "Record Breaking Christmas" with Michelle Argyris on
Lifetime on in the background - it was OK... "ish".

who would stab Victor Kirakis... How about ANYONE WHO'S EVER MET HIM??!!

I don't remember this movie, but I rated it 1 star on Netflix. I
reserve the 1 star rating for movies so bad that I need to warn myself
to never under any circumstances watch it again. A 2 star rating means
it might be a bad movie that I did not like. But, I might give it a
second chance and watch it again. Not a 1 star!

I watched

Welcome to Chippendales (Hulu) - I'm going to squeeze my money's worth
out of Hulu! First up this series about the founder of Chippendales
(Kumail Nanjiani) I watched the first two episodes. "An Elegant,
Exclusive Atmosphere" and "Four Geniuses." They were pretty good. The
first episode features "Dorothy Stratten" who I assume people who were
around in the 70s/80s know her name and back story. I was only vaguely
familiar with the name and had no idea what was going to happen.

Avatar: The Way of Water (theatrical) - James Cameron's epic sequel
which picks up with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) his Na'vi wife (Zoe
Saldaña) and their family, which given how much time has passed includes
teenage kids. When the movie starts they are all happily living the
good life on Pandora, but all of that comes to an end when humanity
returns more determined than ever to conquer the planet. At first Jake
leads the tree dwelling Na'vi in a guerilla war against the humans, but
when the humans send a hit squad (made up of old enemies) after him and
his family he flees to the water Na'vi. But the hit squad is hot on his
trail which means the fight is now on the water. I caught this in 3D
IMAX and shouldn't have to say just how good the movie looked. The plot
wasn't too bad either. Lots of action! If the first Avatar was
"Alien," then this is "Aliens." When this 3+ hour epic was finally over
the audience I was with clapped and I could hear lots of people
excitedly talking about how good the movie is, and better than the first
one. All things considered, I guess it is better than the first one.

But I wish Cameron would hire an editor. This movie is a little bloated
with self indulgent beauty shots of the sea life and easily could have
lost 20 to 30 minutes with no real impact on the plot. I heard Avatar 3
is already finished filming and currently clocks in at 9 hours (I'm not
exaggerating!). I'm guessing he will cut part 3 down to 2 or 3 movies.
But keep in mind they've apparently already started work on 4, so I'm
not sure how the numbering system is going to work! Someone needs to
kick Cameron out of the editing room and let someone else handle the
cutting. But considering this movie will probably break a billion or
two easily, I don't see that happening any time soon. Anyway I am
definitely looking forward to the next one.

I turned on some Christmas movie but it turned out it was starring that

I think Peete was mixed up with Hallmark Channel. I don't know if she
still is. But she hasn't gone to the GAFfe Channel, as best I can tell.
