- The New Year's Smash episode of AEW Dynamite opened with Ricky Starks taking on "The Ocho" Chris Jericho. Starks won with a spear, but the Jericho Appreciation Society came out to attack him after the bell. Action Andretti showed up, but the heels stopped him as Jake Hager delivered a tab;e shot to Starks. Hangman Adam Page updated his medical condition, but Jon Moxlwy appeared. to promote their match on Dynamite which took place last night. The Acclaimed defended the AEW WOrld Tag Team titles against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt were ejected, but before that, Dutt used Anthony Bowens' foot for the pin and the titles. The referee restarted the match, and Bowens rolled up Lethal to retain. Bryan Danielson made Tony Nese submit to the LaBell lock, and then MJF told "The American Dragon" he has to wrestle every week between now and Febrruary 8, an if he does, he gets a title shot aganst MJF at Revolution. Danielson countered with a 60-minute Iron Man match, which the AEW World champion accepted. Swerve Strickland then faced AR Fox. Strickland won with a double stomp. Jade Cargill and Red Velvet then battled Kiera Hogan and Skye Blue in tag team action. THe TBS WOmen's champ beat Hogan with a Pump Kick. The main event saw Samoa Joe defend the TNT title against Darby Allin. Allin gave Joe two Coffin Drops for the pin and the belt. Sting the Crow helped his protege celebrate the win.In the ratings, Dynamite averaged 864,0000 viewers.

- WWE announced that Money in the Bank will originate from London's O2 Arena JUly 1, which would have been Princess Diana's 62nd birthday. No doubt the success of Clash at the Castle helped WWE decide to put one of their big premium live events in the UK.
