I watched:

GLENN BECK

THE NEWS AND WHY IT MATTERS

MYSTERIES DECODED:
"America's Most Haunted Ghost Town". A series of disturbing events in Cerro
Gordo, the most haunted ghost town in America, are investigated.
Unfortunately, they invited a female "pyschic" along who spent most of her
time "reading auras" and trying to "communicate with spirits". They spent
most of the time investigating a hotel that "mysteriously" burned down which
people blamed on a ghost. After wasting 30 minutes of investigating a
haunted bed from the town and the pyschic doing her thing, it turns out the
fire was most likely started by faulty wiring that had been installed in the
wood building in the desert in the early 1900's. I wanted to give the
"pyschic" a two-by-four headache when she believed that a ghost caused the
faulty wiring to start the fire. This show used to be a lot more credible in
the past.

HOGAN'S HEROES:
"The Antique". Hogan tricks Klink into passing informnation to the
Underground via cuckcoo clock.

HOGAN'S HEROES:
"Is There a Traitor in the House?". Hogan uses an appearance of Axos
Annie to pass information to the Underground.

What did you watch?

I think the Thermians refer to those as historical documents.

This will be a two day catch-up. I watched:

The Santa Clauses (Disney+) "Chapter Four: The Shoes Off the Bed Clause"
- Tim Allen, Elzabeth Mitchell and kids adapt to life back in the real
world. I was mistaken about the elves giving them new identities. They
have their old identities restored. Also, the daughter suddenly
develops the ability to talk to animals. Meanwhile back at the North
Pole the new Santa (Kal Penn) loses the Santa suit, so he never actually
turns into Santa. But he doesn't even worry about that as he's running
the North Pole like a tech bro or something. He decides to make it
Christmas every day. The head elves (and Penn's daughter) know this is
a horrible idea! But the rank and file elves love it and cheer him on.
This guy truly is a horrible Santa! And he doesn't even care when elves
suddenly start to go missing.

"Chapter Five: Across the Yule-Verse" - It was worse than I thought.
Kal Penn isn't just a bad Santa, he's so bad at his job he's actually
sucking the magic out of Christmas. He insists on moving forward with
his Christmas everyday nonsense even as the elves are literally
disintegrating into nothingness! Bernard (David Krumholtz) finally
shows up to talk Tim Allen into becoming Santa again. They explain away
Krumholtz's noticeable aging by saying he gave up being an elf to marry
a human.

"Chapter Six: A Christmas to Remember" - Season (series?) finale. Penn
is practically a Bond Villain by this point. He has Allen locked up and
he unleashes the evil Toy Soldiers from the second movie as added
muscle. But this is the finale so Penn eventually sees the error of his
ways and everything gets wrapped up with Allen becoming Santa again.
Overall it was a pretty good show, for fans of the movies at least.

Love, Death & Robots (Netflix streaming) "Bad Travelling" - Episode 2.
This one was directed by David Fincher. This story focuses on what I'm
guessing was a 19th century ship that is boarded by a giant crustacean
that starts to slaughter the crew until one of them makes a deal to take
it to a populated island in exchange for only eating the crew that is
fed to it. This was pretty good.

"The Very Pulse of the Machine" - I'm not even sure what was happening
with this one. But Mackenzie Davis voices an astronaut who crash lands
on Io and then I guess starts to hallucinate or something.

Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague (blu-ray) - A while back I heard about
blu-ray concert films with Dolby Atmos sound. The reviews were raving.
I was skeptical, but decided to pick up a couple, including this Hans
Zimmer concert. It's just Hans Zimmer conducting his music (along with
the occasional story about the writing of the music) from his various
movies (Gladiator, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark
Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, and more). I have a few concert films,
but this is my first orchestral film. It was great. The music was
great, the Dolby Atmos sound absolutely delivered the goods, and
visually it was nice too. It wasn't just dull shots of an orchestra or
the audience. It felt more like a rock concert. Well recommended for
fans of Hans Zimmer's music.

Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons (4K disc) This plays
almost like a homage to the Christopher Reeve Superman movies with all
the references. The plot involves Batman and Superman's sons having to
team up and stop Starro from taking over the world. It was better than
the trailers made it look. Although I really didn't care for the voice
acting.

Fantasy Island - "Hurricane Helene / The Bachelor Party" - I generally
liked this episode, but I'm not sure how to recap it. In part because I
think they added a new character to the show but didn't reveal that the
guess will be a regular(?) until the end. They were also playing around
with the timeline so I wasn't always following when events were happening.

Quantum Leap - "Paging Dr. Song" I don't care about the leap. What I
care about is they captured the person who for all intents and purposes
is a time terrorist who is trying to rewrite history and they don't go
all in trying to get information from her. That being said, I liked the
episode and next week's looks good.

Dreamscape (blu-ray) 1984 movie about someone who kills in dreams using
a hand with razors on the fingers. No, not Elm Street, Dreamscape. It
could use a new print but the movie holds up well enough.

Anybody who has watched family guy‘s road to the north pole knows exactly
what’s happening to the elves!

I liked Clark (and his ridiculously large chest size). I didn’t like lowest
but I couldn’t get around her having the wrong color eyes anyway. Damien
was pretty good although he had a lot of good facial expressions driving
him.

They nabbed Dr. Grace? Crap, she was the only reason I was watching.

Dreamscape has always looked like hell.

I noticed her eyes too. I'm not sure if it was in this group or
somewhere else, but I was reading about her eye color recently.

She didn't give anything up. But she made a pretty compelling argument,
without actually saying much of anything, to not talk. She basically
acknowledged they are in a time war against someone else in the future
and anything she says or that's said by anyone else even in the past
*will* be known to the other side.

It's an older disc but it's supposedly a new 2K scan. The review of the
disc made a point to say there's no information on where that 2K scan
actually came from.

Alien cubed
The game

Those were enough for me to never watch any of his work ever again.

I watched the balance of the singer killed by her sister which I found
absolutely ludicrous (Her sister who doesn’t know anything but taking drugs
magically knows the routine and can just drop in as back up singe with no
rehearsal or anything?) and then the next episode. The singer killed by her
kid sister was the one that I complained they had new narration and they
got the series premise wrong. They reverted to the old narration for the
next episode so somebody else must not have liked it either. :-)

It’s a movie I have never cared for in part because the image quality has
always been crap.

I was actively listening to the opening narration and didn't hear
anything wrong with it. I guess that's why.

Back in 84 I probably would have been watching it on an old TV where the
picture quality wasn't that great for anything. It's only by modern
standards that I can notice the low quality. Plus it was a *lot* better
when I was a kid. The post apocalyptic sequences and the snake man were
great. Now it's just OK. I've never paired it with Elm Street before.
I'm about to dive into the Elm Street flicks and figured I'd revisit
Dreamscape first.

They dropped the “not ready for testing“ business and it didn’t sound sped

Reasonable. I don’t even think I’ve ever seen all the Elm Street flicks.
But they all sort of ran together so I’m not really sure.

I *love* the Elm Street flicks. I've watched them a zillion times. I'm
about to go through them all again and pair them with the Jason flicks
which I've only watched a couple of times. I was hoping for a 4K
upgrade but nothing. With my luck they'll announce new 4K versions a
week after I finish them.

LaLaLand just put out a new comprehensive FRIDAY THE 13TH score collection:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/febgqyyrvora7ef/F13.png?dl=0

Manfredini's music is effective, but repetitive. I can't see myself listening
to multiple CDs of the same thing over and over again, but for a true Jason
fan, I can see the appeal.

Isn't that how the distributors know its time for a new release?

I've done good in this world. Now I'm tired and just want to be a cranky

I think I’ve seen all the Jason flicks but mostly because they tend to run
marathons of them.

My favorite is Jason X with Alexa Doig where Becca Valentine‘s nipples fall
off.

I think so! I have the weirdest luck where I will wait, and wait, and
wait, then right after I break down and watch a movie they will announce
an upgrade. The last time this happened was just a few months ago I
waited years to watch "Back to the Beach" then I finally broke down and
watched the old faded DVD, and literally less than a week later they
announced a new blu-ray!

Other movies I waited years to watch which are getting new prints (after
I watched the DVD) include "Young Sherlock Holmes" and "Dragonslayer."
I love that these movies are getting new prints, I just wish I new about
them before I watched the low quality versions.

Now I'm diving into the Jason flicks which I watched a couple of years
ago and right after I watched them they announced a box set which
included fresh new scans, a 4K upgrade of the original the extra slap in
the face a new updated 3D version of part 3. The copy I had included 3
in 3D, but the old school red and blue glasses type. Yes, I watched it
that way, no it wasn't pleasant experience. But I am definitely looking
forward to watching 3 again with modern 3D.

I am amazed there’s a new print of “back to the beach“ after they went out
of their way to destroy Lori Loughlin‘s career.

Honestly, Dragonslayer looks a lot better if it’s kind of murky. The last
improved print I saw of it you could see the mechanics of how everything
worked with Matte boxes around it as it was flying.
