It was different, you blithering idiot. Trump was asked repeatedly by
the National Archives to give the documents back. Not only did he
refuse, he fought it in court for a year, and the FBI had to obtain a
court order to seize the documents.

Because of these shenanigans, Trump can be charged with obstruction of
justice in addition to possession charges. Biden can be charged only
with possession for the documents found in his home and perhaps the
closed office.

Also, Trump had a significantly larger quantity of documents than Biden.

Don't make me defend Biden's carelessness and indifference.

Or Newsom.

The Democrats are terrified of Biden being their candidate in 2024. He
doesn't have a pandemic to hide behind this time and can't spend the
entire campaign in his basement.

Love the Keystone Kops routine. Now right wing shit for brains will
need to decide if the Top Secret classification is something they will
pretend that matters or not. The irony of the situation can only be
described as delicious. Well played eunuchs!

What did Trump do with the Top Secret docs Eunuch Rich? You're stupid,
but I don't think you're too stupid to know only one of the two was
committing treason and should be put to death for it. But I know you're
a eunuch and don't have the balls to admit it, this post being a case in
point. Any questions, buddy?

Oddly they have forgotten that these documents are required to be
stored in secure locations. No, Biden's garage does not qualify.

Twitski glosses over the fact that Vice Presidents can't declassify
documents so Biden has ZERO reason to have posession of these
documents.

Stored them in a secure location of course. Compare this to Biden's

The documents were found before the election but it was all kept quiet

The terms are illegality and arrogance since Biden could not
declassify documents nor did he store them securely. There is an
argument over whether or not Trump had the right to declassify. There
is no such argument with Biden.

Neither does anywhere at Mar-a-Lago, to be fair.

By law, classified material must be stored in secure compartmented
information facilities (SCIFs), which have very specific and highly
technical requirements for their construction. Nowhere at either
Mar-a-Lago or Biden's residence qualifies as a SCIF and thus both Trump
and Biden are guilty of mishandling classified material.

When the president travels, NSA and CIA construct portable SCIFs in
hotel rooms or other on-site accommodations with high-tech equipment
they bring with them, which is itself classified. The portable SCIF
holds all secure coms and all hardcopy classified material used by the
president and his staff during the visit.

Stupid question perhaps but who decides "what a secure location" is
and is there an inspection to verify to the appropriate government
department's satisfaction that the claimed "secure location" is up to
their required standards?

I can understand why high officials might want to review papers
outside their office but there surely must be SOME protocol (e.g. most
of these individuals have bodyguards so that carrying these docs from
point A to point B is the bodyguards' responsibility and that the
documents be stored in a safe when not in use and that safe has to be
up to a required standard?)

Surely it's not just the say-so of the high official. Wasn't this also
an issue in 2016 with Hillary's e-mail server?

The Code of Federal Regulations

Yes.

No. A Secret Service agent doesn't carry paperwork, luggage, or anything
else for a protectee. You can't be very effective if an attack takes
place if your hands are full of crap.** Carrying things for the official
is the responsibility of staff.

As for the responsibility that classified material is secure, that falls
on whomever signed for it in the first place.

> and that safe has to be up to a required standard?)

Yes. A GSA-approved SCIF safe is required.

**I had this discussion with Hillary back in 2014. We arrived at the RON
and just before we got out of the car, she told me to grab her luggage
on the way in. I politely declined and told her that her staff could
bring her luggage in or the bags could stay in the car until I got her
inside and secure, then I'd come back out and arrange for them to be
brought up to her room. She said she wanted the bags brought up now and
Huma (her staffer) wasn't strong enough to bring them and had more
important things to do anyway. I told her it was against protocol and
policy for USSS agents to carry bags while escorting a protectee, so
those were her options. She gave me that boiling death stare that she's
famous for but backed down. I heard later she tried to have me replaced
as the lead advance for the visit but when the bosses heard why, they
declined her request.
