Not really, but English is the only language I read/speak.

I don't ignore them, but if I don't speak the language I need to read the subtitles.

Have you really missed the point... again?

Film is all about the interplay of moving images, light, darkness, and sound. If you're "reading" a foreign film "like a comic book," you are only experiencing it as a series of still images and written words.

Damn, but you're one dumbassed mofo of a Donkey!

No one said that they did, Donkey. Learn to read.

I said that if you're "reading a film like a comic book," you are missing out on numerous aspects of the film that do no have a corresponding element in comic books.

You're also missing out on the transubstantiative aspect of the film experience ("a dream that makes one dream"), because comic books are not as immersive, do not share the moving images/sounds of the dream experience, and (unlike dreams) can be picked up and put down at will.

No, Pendragon, haven't you ever watched a foreign movie while reading the subtitles?

Hello my friend, I watched "BREXIT: The Uncivil War" last night, Benedict Cumberbatch was excellent as Dominic Cummings.

Everyone reads the subtitles, Donkey.

Most of as read them as we would read motion picture subtitles -- not as we would read a comic book.

If you watch a film/read subtitles the way that you would read a comic book, you obviously haven't the faintest understanding of how the cinematic medium works.

1) That isn't what you said, you silly little pile of human filth.
2) Why would you read it like a comic book and not like a subtitle?

Words matter, you perpetually sodden ignoramus.

Learn how to use them correctly.

-- Michael Pendragon

Die Stink, die.
Stop stinking up the place
Cover your ugly face
With sod so foul that only brambles dare
Take root atop its filth. Your grizzled hair
Long home to ticks and fleas
Shall be the straw where graveworms make their bed;
The earth repels you like some rank disease
The sun shines brighter knowing that you're dead
And songbird choirs echo "Die Stink, die."
