Turns out the attacker was a black kid thrashing a classmate on the school
bus. But the media finds that fact to be inconvenient for the Agenda, so
knowing that people mostly only read the headline and first paragraph of an
article, they run a stock photo of a white kid throwing a punch and hide the
fact that the attacker was actually black.

Anyone who stills trusts anything that comes out of these propaganda factories
at this point should be locked away for their own safety.

I habitually, because of trust issues with all media, attempt to trace a story BACK to its original source, and then if possible find two reputable sources to confirm the report. Reputable sources seldom include sites that have known overtly racist articles or authors, or lunatic sounding theories unless they have hard evidence for support. As an example, if a confirming source traces back to author Pamela Geller or similar, the red flags start to go off. Unnamed government officials as sources, 99% of the time indicates some form of obfuscation of truth.

While journalistic integrity only weighs partially into my assessment equation, it is an important start. This is a LOT of work, too much work for working people with children. My kids are grown, I have a pension, am retired, crotchety and determined to get as close as possible to the truth.

I see no particular reason such a story NEEDS a photo but using a
photo in this way grossly distorts the message and encourages a strong
reaction by the majority audience when the deception is revealed which
was completely avoidable had the deception not been employed
completely unnecessarily.

And DON'T tell me such a reaction is racist since >I'm< NOT the one
who injected an utterly false racial angle into this story. Nor try to
tell me the authors of this story didn't know precisely what they were

Agreed. I am increasingly hostile to stock stills - and video - because
they seem increasingly deceptive. Google News added a fact-checking
section several months back and there have been many items where the
fact-checkers said the stills or video in a particular story were false.
For instance, footage that was supposedly of the current unrest in Niger
was actually filmed in Senegal in 2019 during some unrest there. The
news organizations want to look like they are on top of developments but
they can't - or don't want to - spend the money to send people there so
they find something that looks "close enough" and use it instead. But
the footage they think is close enough is probably full of flaws like
the uniforms not being correct for the country they are claiming or
obvious landmarks of a different country being in the footage.

There are several channels on YouTube that offer stories about what's
happening in Ukraine that show footage of soldiers deploying or firing
rockets or whatever where there is a notation at the bottom that admits
that this is stock footage and that notation stays there for the ENTIRE
length of the video. It's not just one or two brief clips but an entire
10 or 20 minute video. The audio is also clearly done by an AI or voice
synthesis because certain words are mispronounced.

News stories on the subject of crime do stock photos all the time, at
least for stories in my area. Every story starts with a stock photo of a
local police car, sometimes depicted in an entirely different season,
and contains no other video or still photographs at all. The reporting
is as vague as can be in almost every case. I'm pretty much convinced
they are simply printing police press releases and not sending a
reporter to the scene of the incident at all. This just reeks of laziness.
