I watched:

PAT GREY

SPACE: 1999:
Shout Factory TV played this all day so I watched off and on. I had to
laugh at ascene in "Bringers of Wonder" in which Hellena flooded the
base with contact sleeping gas and wore a paper surgical mask like the
ones we wore during the Wuhan Flu epidemic while handling it.

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE 3000:
"Hanger 18". This first season ep of MST3K movie was a made-for-TV
production about two astronauts on the Space Shuttle witnessing a UFO
crash, and find themselves stymied by a coverup conspiracy. I now know
how Crow got his name.

I don't recall what else I watched. Nothing very interesting, I guess.

What did you watch?

Yesterday? Pretty much just sports. Though I did have LMN on in the
background in the morning - it's amazing how good 30 year old TV movies
look on the new TV!! ;)

Phoenix Open - For most of the final day, Canadian Nick Taylor (not
from Duran Duran!!) was just one back of leader Scottie Scheffler.
Unfortunately, Taylor bogeyed the 16th hole (I think) and Scheffler
birdied the 17th, so a 3-stroke lead meant it was pretty much over at
that point. (Taylor partly redeemed himself by birdieing the final
hole.)
Anyway, Scheffler wins the Phoenix Open for the second year in a row.
Oddly, the purse for this tournament has *more than doubled* since
last year! so Scheffler won more than twice as much ca$h as he did in
2022!

The Superbowl - Well, you can't say this didn't delover an enjoyable,
close game!!
With the new TV, and the way the game was filmed, it felt like you
were pretty much right there on the field with the players.
We actually went out to dinner with about 2 minutes left to go, but
to a place just across the street, and they had the game on so we got
to see the end.
Rhianna's show was visually interesting (did the dancers on the
platforms get extra hazard pay?!!), but musically I thought it was
weak... She didn't even include "Shut Up and Drive"!!

I have work (early) today, so I put LMN back on as background noise
after the game was over and my brother left - my older smaller
flatscreem is now in my bedroom. It's running off just my old Apple TV
box, but with the Spectrum app, I can still access my cable lineup, so
I can now watch cable TV in me bedroom too. So I left that on for a
little while before going to bed, at a relatively early hour...

Joel told Crow it stood for (paraphrased) Cyber RObotic Woman but had run
out of parts before finishing. It turns out Joel was messing with him and
had built him specifically to play this joke on him.

There are at least three films called Hangar 18 -- from 1980, 2008 and
2018. This appears to be the 1980 version, which was a theatrical.
It's been shown on TV under different titles and with different
endings.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's definitely the 1980 one. :-)

Maybe they showed the TV version? It had dramatic breaks placed just right
for commercials and the production levels was at that level.

Yeah, we have mutual friends. Met the whole family at the after party for a
premiere of a movie I sort of worked on. Bain, Landau, both daughters (one
of which went on to be Drusilla on Buffy/Angel). Bain was trying to fix my
friend up with one of her daughters (I think Juliet), but he felt all wonky
about it because they’ve known each other since they were kids. And
unfortunately I was G.U.

Both Bain and Landau’s personalities in real life are pretty much the
opposite of what they were on Mission: Impossible.

Nope. I saw it in the theater in March of 1981 with my BFF, who now builds
spaceships for Musk. We thought it was pretty funny because it started with
an art card, saying how this was a true story, and then went to a shot of a
shuttle orbiter in orbit, but we hadn’t actually launched one yet and
wouldn’t for another month. Making it unlikely this was a true story!
