One of those every five year stories (although it's running late)
is when someone discovers the Pentagon has mapped out Toronto
or a similar Allied major city ....

The US has and regularly updates operational plans for invading Canada.

As part of training officers on how to make operational plans that are
worth the paper they are written on. :P

Didn't know that but am hardly surprised.

It's not exactly news that staff officers NEED to know how to make
operational plans after all.

There are doubtless megatons of plans that never expect to actually be
used - just last week I told the tale of the US Army's "plan" to fight
the Zombie Apocalypse (tm).

Which is about as likely as the Joint Chiefs of Staff prancing around
nekkid in Kiev right? Nevertheless officers DO need to know how to
write plans effectively.

I'm sure the US Army has far better maps of Toronto than one finds on
Google after all!
