I always wonder why some get left out. Sometimes it is because of when
they died, such as Sizemore who would presumably be eligible for next
years segment but may be left out because he died before the Oscars of
this year. Yeah, it makes little sense but that's how I feel about
many of the people that get left out and who gets included. There were
a lot of complaints on Twitter about Leslie Jordan and Charlbi Dean
being left out and a few bringing up Sorvino. Sorvino was the biggest
one for me as he clearly had a huge role in numerous movies. Jordan is
one that I more closely associate with TV and Dean was still early in
her career.

The autopsy said she was sober, not impaired. While she was living, she
chose to commit a reckless act that could have killed innocent
bystanders, even if you don't believe it was an act of suicide. Write
her off.

Similarly, even though Robert Blake had important roles, especially the
title character of the Baretta tv series, write him off. Unless you
believe he was actually innocent and not merely acquitted because the
prosecution didn't meet its burden of proof.

There was no shortage of people to honor who lacked notoriety. The
Academy failed to honor a sufficient number of them. But leaving these
two off the honor roll was not something to criticize them for.

That's really sketchy, Adam. I think there's some evidence that she had
a medical emergency while driving, and that's why she crashed.

And I'm saying this as someone who never had more than a grudging
respect for Heche.

Ian, I just re-read news reports of her autopsy. The initial finding was
"accidental", and this did not change with the results of the tox
screen. She was not found to have been impaired.

No news report I've read said anything about having lost control of her
vehicle due to a medical emergency, and the moment the tox screen
results were known, police closed the drunk/impaired driving criminal
investigation.

Produce what you read that the collision was not willful and reckless on
her part.

You gonna argue that Robert Blake was actually innocent and not just
acquitted because the prosecution failed to meet its burden of proof as
well?

So did the cops ever come up with a reason for the crash? Because from
the home Ring camera video, she must have been doing 80mph through
that subdivision just before the crash.

You don’t write off Robert Blake for having been found innocent. But if
you’re in the Academy, you probably do write him off for being more famous
for a TV role than movies.

jury doesn't have to find "actual innocence" to acquit.

The case was closed without a criminal finding, or whatever police call
it. You'd think the collision investigation squad would have stuck with
it till they made a finding, considering how serious the crash was.
