let herself by charmed by Elliott.

We get some backstory from Philby's own debriefing by KGB.

It's very slow and very British. Lewis isn't doing an American accent
but I still suspect he's doing an accent. Pearce is doing his mild
accent so he doesn't sound Australian but nondescript British.

They aren't making it sound like LeCarre.

I'm watching it the channel formerly known as ePix, so it's available On
Demand. Made for ITVX, a streaming service. It first aired last year.

We watched this and enjoyed it. (On Amazon in Canada.) But I agree it
was pretty slooooow going at times. And one needs to be paying very
close attention as the story line jumps back and forth in the time line.

Lothar Metzl, 83, a retired Central Intelligence Agency research analyst, died of a heart ailment Sept. 6 at Georgetown University Hospital. Mr. Metzl, who lived in Washington, was born in Vienna. He received a law degree from the University of Vienna. Before moving to New York in 1938 he was a lawyer and playwright in Austria.
