The Post 1971 vs. the Post 2023.

Same apocalyptics. Different year.

One hoax led to another.

You think journalism "disrespecting science" is pervasive? Such as?

I think that, second only to unfounded rumor, journalism maintains our
most prevalent collective perception of the world. And I think that
it's largely beholden first to commercial interests. (Unfortunately, I
also think that, as with capitalism, there's not an obviously preferable
mechanism available in humanity's toolbox.)

'Specifics'? Isn't "If it bleeds it leads" a physical law now?

So we're conflating headlines with reporting now? Come on. You should
be able to produce several examples of reporting where the science is
ignored, exaggerated or otherwise misconstrued. Example: taking
Ivermectin. But no legitimate outlets report this as legitimate.

Afaics, it's headlines and maybe a paragraph or two that form people's
"informed" opinion about current affairs. I don't know that the quality
of reporting as submitted to Editorial has suffered, though I can hardly
imagine it'd come away improved. And fwiw I STILL don't know the
"truth" about Ivermectin, and can believe further that no one does.
