That's good, in a way; we can ignore him and concentrate on my draft. I
have some changes and I'd like some genuine feedback.

The last line had to be changed, the Chimp was really the only one
demanding a rematch; the monkeys and men have moved on to pretending
that he got one and won it, which happily makes is even funnier. So I
came up with:

Pretended to hold the contest again.

It's not spelled out, though I thought it was pretty clear, that I'm
supposed to have been in the pretend contest. But then I thought of a
way to spell that part out:

Pretended we held the contest again.

It's still not spelled out that I'm supposed to have lost, but it looks
pretty clear to me. I would like your feedback on whether it is, in
particular.

I've also decided to change the character's name, as there's no reason
for the "Chimp Obsesso" name here -- it adds nothing for the poem -- and
it would make a horrible title. I'll have to tweak a name closer to
"Humpty Dumpty" for that.

I come here to write, not to fight. I enjoy words and people who use them.
The writers I read care about their audiences and don’t want to be ignored.
