New Showtime series on Waco (Waco: The Aftermath) is getting panned by the
critics.

They are angry that the director humanizes the Branch Davidians (imagine
humanizing humans with a different perspective, how offensive!) while also
portraying the FBI and federal court system as cruel, incompetent and
politicized, in other words, accurately.

If Joseph Smith and Brigham Young had started the Mormon religion in 1985,
the FBI would've killed and arrested them and all of their followers.

Original promise of America is that oddballs are allowed to do what they
want as long as they aren't hurting anyone. Beliefs of Branch Davidians
weren't any crazier than Mormonism.

US system today is so paranoid about the people it governs that even those
who self-exile to the desert must be hounded.
