I was surprised they continued the plot with Meg. The song was great. I have T-Mobile!

I was hoping the picture of Peter in the yearbook was from way back when in he was undercover at school.

Wow that lacrosse joke.

Ok, Lois, dial it down with the pearl clutching.

soaps: Both Fri's ep's apparently.
DOOL - EJ acts like a child an slugs Eric even after Eric explained
the circumstances of his sleeping with Nicole. Nicole is having
terrible pains - I love how at first callous Gabi thought she was
faking! - and is taken to the hospital (by Gabi). At the hospital,
newly returned Kayla suspects Nicole's problem was The Menopause!
Unforunately, it turns out, Nicole is preggers! (who is the father?!
take a wild guess!!). This is disappointing - at Nicole's age, I'd
believe The Menopause way before I'd believe pregnancy!!... Finally,
Kate coerces her way to a meeting with her lead captor on the ship...
and it's apparently somebody Kate already knows!
GH - Holly Sutton manages to stop Victor's escape, but in the melee,
Obrecht gets injured, and Victor escapes with the pathogen, and leaves
on the Haunted Star (boat). Spencer sees Victor escaping, and leaves
the baby with Trina to go after Victor. Meanwhile, Laura (with Curtis
looking on) stops the "weather machine" dumping "carbonic snow" on Port
Charles. [roll] Jordan and Robert are informed that Victor has escaped
the island, and call of the drone strike on the island, but the drones
are redicted to taking out the Haunted Star... with Spencer on board!
Is he dead?!

golf - At the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte,
NC, early on Day 4 it looked like Xander Schauffele might win it. But
Wyndham Clark, who has been playing the PGA since 2018, vaulted ahead
down the stretch, and easily won the Wells Fargo, netting his his first
PGA win! There has been something like *six* "first-time" winners on
the PGA this year!

Before going to bed, I put the reairing of "Her Affair to Die" for on
Lifetime as background noise. I wonder if Meghan Carrasquillo will ever
play a villain after this, or whether she'll only play "heroines" from
now on...

Recorded for later: The Blacklist.

"Who would ever do this to him!?" - HottCiara on DOOL (04-27-2020), asking
who would stab Victor Kirakis... How about ANYONE WHO'S EVER MET HIM??!!

Did nobody watch or report on Friday’s BLUE BLOODS?

Of interest to BTR: Danny now has a special unmarked police car with bullet
resistant (not proof) door panels. However, it apparently has just plain
glass windows.

Baker wore a couple of lovely frocks. Idiot Eddie has taken to just
dropping in on Magnum whenever she feels like it. She looks like a toad
next to Baker. She asked the two guy musketeers if she should salute
Magnum in his office when she’s in civilian clothes. They said they didn’t
know.

All the regulars got a little screen time. Henry got idiot Eddie out of a
jam. All in all it was pretty uninteresting.

Speaking of pretty uninteresting.

NCIS Los Angeles
Another “origin of Callen“ episode. Sam Hannah takes a personal day. We
actually saw Hetty speak at least in flashback. There are apparently a
whole bunch of now grown children that were trained to be psychotic,
murderous monsters by the CIA. A bunch of them got killed. The Muslim girl
at NCIS murdered a rogue, CIA agent, waiting for him to empty both his guns
before shooting him to death. You would have to remember a lot of stuff
about Callen’s history that I sure didn’t. Well at least there was some
really stupid modern day action involving stuff like hiding in an office’s
server room because those things have gigantic bank vault construction.
They mentioned Vance and how his assistant was helping them with the case.
I have no idea who the hell Vance’s assistant is. He at best has a
receptionist.

DEATH. IN PARADISE (PBS) S03E07.
Another episode I hadn’t seen a frame of although a lot of it was familiar
as it got its elements recycled and scattered across later episodes. I
must’ve not watched any of season three after they killed off Ben Miller.

STARGATE SG1. Daniel dies and ascends and Parker Lewis joins the team.
Jack is turned into a teenage clone who just can’t wait to hit on 14 year
old girls in what has to be the creepiest episode of them all.

Now you're spoiling my future posts!

I watched....

Stargate SG-1, S4E06 'Window of Opportunity' (DVD)
Commentary by director and FX supervisor. One thing I learned from this
commentary is that a lot of the goofy stuff like golfing thru the 'gate,
juggling during Latin lessons, etc. were improved late in the production
because the episode was running very short. So they were scrambling for
things to pad out the episode with.

-----------------

Stargate SG-1, S4E07 'Watergate' (DVD) (No, not the hotel!)
"When an attempt to dial out a wormhole fails, the SGC discovers that
the Russians have a Stargate and it won't shut down. Together with a
Russian expert, SG1 parachute onto the Russian base. They discover that
the Stargate is the one lost on Thor's ship. Everyone in the base is
dead and some mysterious water taken from a water planet is missing.
Three of the team travel to the Waterworld by minisub. Then O'Neill
discovers a frozen Maybourne in the freezer."

Colonel Jack O'Neill: I suppose you expect my male bravado to kick in
right about now?
Dr. Svetlana Markov: I've read your file.

Colonel Jack O'Neill: [Instructing Teal'c how to use a parachute] It's
easy, just jump, then pull this.
Teal'c: This does not seem wise, O'Neill!
Colonel Jack O'Neill: I said it was easy, not wise.

Trivia: The title "Watergate" was initially a joke before becoming the
official episode title.
Marina Sirtis beat 19 other actors, 17 of them actual Russians, at the
audition. Her Russian accent was so good that after the first take she
was asked to tone it down so she could be understood.
"47 reference" Marina Sirtis' character mentions that 47 people are
trapped in the base. Overuse of the number 47 was a running gag in Star
Trek, particularly in The Next Generation, where she played Deanna Troi.
Addition by AMF: 47 is the most frequently chosen 'random number'. It is
also a "magic number" at Pomona College in Claremont CA. Several Pomona
alumni were on the writing team of ST:TNG.

Then I watched it again with the commentary. I have no idea why. This
time it was the director, the director of photography and the FX
supervisor. From side comments I learned they did these commentaries
during the production of season 5. I also suspect there was some
pressure to do these based on little things like the commentators
comparing the fonts used for different people in the opening credits....
"Teal'c's a good barfer."

-----------------

Stargate SG-1, S4E08 'The First Ones' (DVD)
"While on an archaeological dig at the original Goa'uld home world,
Daniel is captured by a young Unas. He tries to communicate with it and
slowly builds a rapport. Meanwhile, SG-1 comes to the planet to find
Daniel and they soon realize that some of the SG-team members there may
have been taken over by Goa'uld. Will they be able to discover which
ones in time to rescue Daniel?"

Colonel Jack O'Neill: I'm tellin' you, it's gotta be Hawkins.
Teal'c: [raises eyebrow] Trust in me O'Neill.
Colonel Jack O'Neill: What if I'm not O'Neill?
Teal'c: Then I was not talking to you.

Trivia: This marks the first appearance of the P-90 sub-machine gun to
replace the MP-5s used as the primary weapons of SG-1.

The I listened to the commentary by Peter DeLuise, the director and
writer of the episode. The character Rothman was named for Jonathan
Glassner's lawyer. Many of the characters have similar reasons for
their names. The Air Force didn't like how long Carter's hair was
during this period, with lots of emails exchanged over it. This was
actually one of the better commentaries so far, I think because DeLuise
was doing it alone so he could stay focused on explaining to the
audience instead of the shop talk and mutual admiration chit-chat.

-----------------

What Did You Watch?

--
I've done good in this world. Now I'm tired and just want to be a cranky
dirty old man.

THE UNDECLARED WAR episode 2
In this episode we have the Prime Minister pushing for an attack on
Russia in response to the cyber attack the UK has experienced. The
PM decides to have GHCQ take out the Russian group that floods Twitter
and other social media sites with various messages. Only to have
the group be back on the air within a day and there be no response
from Russia.

Saara finds something that she thinks is fishy but her 'mentor' thinks
its a waste of time. That said she decides to go find Gabriel, the guy
who beat her in the hacking challenge that helped them both get the
internships with GHCQ. He works in cryptography amongst a group of
apparently equally odd individuals and works out that the encrypted
message is a time and a place. So she gets sent to the Cyberworld
conference to meet the hacker who placed this time and date in the
malware that brought down the Internet in the UK. Only to find that
the person she is meeting is someone she already knew from school.

Not a good ep. McFarlane seems to be replacing all of the traditional
pop culture "cutaways" with woke clapter "jokes". The show's becoming a
political screed and I'm about one episode away from shit-canning it.

Meanwhile, I didn't get to much today, though I did slip in a Tubi

Yeah, I have noticed that as well, but it hasn't gotten to the George W Bush

This drives me nuts. Police do the salute as a quasi-military thing.
Uniformed service members are not supposed to salute civilians. Even
though Frank gets a uniform, he's a civilian. It's a plot point that he
had to resign from the police force to accept the job as commissioner.

But they always salute the president. This is a really big deal that the
United States has civilian control of the military and will therefore
never become a military dictatorship as long as there is civilian
control of the military.

>All the regulars got a little screen time. Henry got idiot Eddie out of a
>jam. All in all it was pretty uninteresting.

>Speaking of pretty uninteresting.

Henry committed felony car sabotage to get that photograph.

Can somebody explain why the city wasn't allowed to investigate the
plaintiff? The corporation counsel is supposed to take steps to protect
the city's interest so investigating the plaintiff by hiring a private
detective, if they don't have staff investigators, should be done in the
ordinary course of business.

Couldn't the cops have just arrested the woman for horrible acting?

Jaimie isn't a detective. Why was he investigating the arson? It's
terribly convenient that the fire department ruled out anything but an
inside job, given that the suspects would have been anyone related to a
defendant with a pending court case. Of course it turned out to be the
obvious guy.

You'd think this fire would have concerned Frank and someone should have
asked Frank why exactly the building had been a fire trap for the entire
time Frank has been commissioner.

Speaking of bad acting, Danny's plot was a real low point. Donnie
Wahlberg was dreadful.

I'm spacing out on how the death of Anthony's friend was resolved.

anim, I tried to put this episode out of mind, but since I've been
unable to, I wrote it up.

If Eddie thinks she supposed to salute him when they’re both in civilian
clothes why the hell doesn’t she salute him at family dinner?

> But they always salute the president.

Did they before Obama? I remember there being a pretty big flap about how
he did it wrong but I don’t remember how anybody did it before him.

Actually, I have a good friend who was a special black ops wet work goon
who ended up introducing President Reagan at various functions. I should
ask him…

Maybe. We never actually saw who did it.

They sure got lucky she didn’t have AAA. Or a friend she calls to change a
tire for her.

Henry makes me crazy because sometimes he barely seems to be able to get to
the dinner table and other times we find him out walking around in the
middle of the city. We know he can’t drive. Does he take Ubers? Did they
just drop him off in downtown Manhattan where he goes to ATMs and such?
Does Frank’s detail outside the house not watch out for him? No matter how
he gets around, how could Henry possibly follow anybody? Much less
secretly? I am assuming he called in a favor or hired somebody to do the
dirty work. But then what do you do with it? They presented the civilian
oversight people as hopeless cop haters that were going to crucify Eddie no
matter what the evidence was. So how does Henry present it to them? And
wouldn’t they have had the same questions you did?

Except they’re exactly as bad as internal affairs, and that they’re going
to simply railroad the cop every time.

I would have bought her horrible acting if she was just part of some
protest group. But she’s actually a scam artist planning on suing somebody?

You’d think this should have been Danny’s storyline.

Usually, I write a paragraph on each character and remember their storyline
as I go. This time I can’t remember Danny or Anthony or Erin’s storylines.
Did she have anything to do except sit there telling Anthony to do
something else?

For those outside NYC, this warehouse fire _really_ did happen,
and yes, a YUGE amount of evidence was destroyed.

The Fire Marshals, which usually have a press release within
a day or two, took months and months, and finally decided this
was started by an electrical problem due to an issue in..

... in ... the hookup between a _generator_ and the
wiring box, and this was courtesy of this system being in
operation for a _DECADE_ since Hurrican Sandy.

Nothing in the public writeup explaining why this backup
power had been needed for a DECADE. Nothing about
who had signed off on the periodic fire/building inspections
in that decade. Nothing about why the sprinkler
system was useless.

Yeah, no kidding. That was literally the writers making up nonsense to serve

He set up the killer to rob another vulnerable pot shop and shot him in the
act.

I think Henry (or his proxy) presented the evidence to the "victim" and
explained how complicated her life was about to become if she didn't drop the
complaint.
