In a rare foray into investigative journalism for this country, the National Post (of Canada) has found strong evidence that suggests that the so-called "safe supply" of opiods that it is giving out to help addicts is simply being sold on to school children who are developing serious and even fatal addictions of their own.

This actually seems to have a simple solution: make the hydromorphone (methadone) users come to a safe distribution site every single time they want the stuff, give them a single dose, and REQUIRE them to consume all of it in front of someone who can make sure they DO consume it and not just hide it under their tongue until out of site. What genius thought that giving them a multi-day supply like a regular prescription was going to be without the consequences described in the article?

I suppose it was probably the same woman who declared that no such diversions were taking place despite substantial evidence to the contrary!

Once again, we see government claim to "solve" a problem while actually making things worse....
