We start with an old woman seemingly having memories of standing on an
ocean beach with her family playing around her. Then it fades back and
she is in a medical facility getting some shot from a nurse to 'calm
her down'. She doesn't seem completely mentally there but keeps
wanting to get back to the beach. Turns out she owned that book at one
time and is in long term medical care in the silo.

Also turns out the people watching everything were Judicial. So they
have hidden cameras in everyone's homes as well as microphones to pick
up conversations. They know that Juliet has the book about Georgia but
aren't ready to take any action, while Juliet goes down to talk to
Gloria Hildebrandt, the old woman. She doesn't get very far because
Judge Meadows has limited her contact with the outside world.

Juliet and her new friend in the dining hall have a semi romantic
moment.

We then move to the Judge threatening the Mayor if he interfered with
her actions again. So politics at play even among this relatively
small group of people. Juliet then goes to see the Judge in the
morning and starts asking difficult questions. She asks why Gloria
Hildebrandt is being kept drugged in medical Juliet asks if she is
being kept there because she said something to Allison Becker that
made her want to go outside the Silo.

The Judge tells Juliet that there's nothing she can do. That she can't
lift the medical order that keeps Gloria drugged and in Medical. Now
we begin to see that the Judge isn't the ultimate power. It's more
like Sims and his people that monitor everyone. Juliet then goes to
see her dad. She gets her dad (a doctor) to help with Gloria. He gets
Gloria and takes her to the Nursery.

Sims knows that the Sheriff is up to something but they've lost track
of her on their monitoring system because the Nursery isn't monitored.
Apparently they keep moving cameras around to replace the broken ones
so they cover the important areas which means many areas don't have
camera coverage now.

Gloria tells her of the Flamekeepers. That the Silo has been trying to
erase them since the rebellion. That they are putting something in the
water so memories fade over time so that they would erase the past and
anyone that would try to preserve it. The Flamekeepers tried to
maintain the memories but the doctors made sure they didn't have kids.
She gave the picture book to George's mom, but she died not long after
that. Turns out that George's mom was helping Juliet's mom with some
sort of magnifying device.

Gloria tells Juliet that the former Sheriff had come by and brought
her flowers. Flowers that he put directly in front of the mirror. That
reminds Juliet of the flowers George left for her along with a note to
double the number of flowers in front of the mirror. So she's starting
to put two and two together.

Gloria says he wasn't there very long and spent most of his time
working on the vent. So Juliet realizes there's probably something in
the vent so she finds a way to block the mirror so she can check the
vent. She finds the hard drive behind the vent. Meanwhile Sims sees
that she blocked the camera and says to send the raiders so we see a
bunch of guys heading down the stairs dressed up like cops in riot
gear. Juliet knows they are coming so she heads out of there. Though
it seems like before she left Gloria told her why her mother had
killed herself.

Shawn, did you ever finish "Silo"? If not, I can wait for your post on
the season #1 finale... If not, I may try to tackle it tomorrow myself.

So, I didn't get this until later, but this was the "midwife" from
episode #1 (and #2?).

I didn't consider that to be a "revelation" - it felt pretty obvious.

One interesting part about these later episodes is that it's revealed
that their slowly losing cameras, having to cannibalize some to use in
"key" areas. It's why Medical doesn't seem to have many cameras.

Actually, it's important to note that that was Bernard's version of
events, as whether this is accurate or not hinges on what happens later.

Yep - that was the important revelation of this episode. Which makes
sense, as per previous appearances, she didn't really seem to be the
"driver" of the action.

Yep (as per what I said above).

OK, that is a completely unverified claim, and we see no evidence
before or after that this is true. That one just seemed like the
paranoid delusion of Gloria.

It was basically a crude microscope.
