I sit back
and watch the throw backs,
being tossed as if the meat wasn't as sweet
as the pure breads.

Silly notion when bones
are studied.

Who is who, does this tibia
belong to this clavicle, did this skull
hold blue eyes, green eyes,
or no eyes?

So flesh coats the bones, clothes coat
the flesh and we apply sweet smelly things
and brighteners to enhance
the vision.

Once caught we disrobe, turn off the lights
and hope what was seen was real
or just a dream.

Gift wrapping can be so deceptive.
