So I decided to check in with P + and see what was happening now that
they’ve added Showtime. You may recall that P + is the worst streaming app
that actually launches.

So first I went in on the iPhone. And I found that the first step in the
new P plus with Showtime is that they deactivated all the existing
accounts. They are apparently still there but you have to reactivate them
and pay. I had previously gotten P + in a bundle with Walmart.

On the iPhone you have to pay 12 bucks a month and that’s pretty much the
only option. Not going to happen.

However on the Cox DVR, while it’s the same thing that I’ve been
deactivated (annoying since it’s asking if I want to sign out.) I have two
choices. Paramount + essential for six dollars a month. Or Paramount + with
Showtime for $12 a month. it apparently now includes:

CBS (the racist eye)
BET.
Comedy Central.
Nickelodeon.
MTV
Smithsonian

Not one thing there I’d give them the proverbial thin dime for.

There’s also apparently a bunch of sports ball stuff that I’m supposed to
recognize the logos for.

Bye, bye Paramount+!

The last thing I want to do is hurt you, but it is still on my list.

This is the only possible solution.

I am waiting for Paramount/Viacom to go under/be bought out - I will be
celebrating when it happens!

Considering all the mergers, bankruptcies and general corporate idiocy
going on with TV and movies I think we should start a pool on what
company will be the last one standing and own all of TV and movie
production and distribution.

I think everybody will keep picking up whoever last swallowed up Showtime,
even though nobody watch Showtime and I completely unwatched, and then
watchable Showtime will be the sole survivor.

The last time I cared about watching Showtime was back when Stargate:
SG1 was on the network.

Joe Pickett

Mayor of Kingstown
The Good Fight

and one of the best series on TV:
EVIL.

I'd pay just for that.

FTR, I definitely find movies to watch on Showtime, on occasion.

In terms of Showtime series, I almost never watch them - the last ones
I watched were "We Hunt Together" (which was a UK import) and
"Yellowjackets".

But the way Paramount is treating its Showtime cable subscribers is
unconscionable.

I’m still waiting for the Walmart to formally announce that P + is no
longer part of the membership I pay for and find out if they are going to
offer a substitute.
