The case you're referring to was a councillor who suggested "Medical
Assistance in Dying" to a Canadian Forces Afghan vet who had been
diagnosed with PTSD.

Which was pretty muh the ultimate career ending move and she was
canned in near record time. While Canada DOES have a euthenasia
program - which I abhor - there has been all sorts of silly talk about
people in poverty, drug induced mental illness and all sorts of goofy
causes. Bottom lne is that if somebody wants to commit suicide they
shouldn't expect the state to help them.

This was originally envisioned for terminally ill patients with no
hope at all and has been extended - some cases actually, others just
speculation and it's a national shame.
