Maybe. Only about 35% of Rs are his die hard MAGAts, and probably not
many more would vote for him in the primary. We'll see how it looks a
year from now.

We're about five months from the first primaries, and you'd think the
GOP side would be loaded with viable candidates anxious to have a try
at the vulnerable Biden. Instead, we've got the mess we've got.

If the GOP insists on a rematch they'll lose bigly, even on the
downticket.

I have heard that Chris Christie is doing better in the polling now.
Though I don't think he's doing better than Trump. As far as I can
tell Christie is the only one that is vying for the nomination that
seems like a decent choice, though I doubt he gets it.

Probably true but I still see so many politicians still supporting
Trump that it seems likely he will end up the nominee even if it hurts
the party. (Of course the alternative is that Trump wins the
Presidency and then starts implementing the changes to protect himself
that may not make it a dictatorship but sure as hell move us closer to
such a thing.)

Ir's Chri Cuomo's contention that Christie doesn't really want it. He's
just running to try discredit Trump and loosen his hold over the GOP.

I'm sure people remembering it but do the people outside of the area
care about it. Sure, it made the news and was talked about quite a bit
but I think that was more a desire to have something to talk about
than any real interest by the general public. Plus it's been a while
and we know how quickly everyone moves on.

I've read that. No idea if it is true or not as I don't follow
Christie's actions other than what I see in various news reports. So I
don't know what sort of policies he's advocating which would be a tell
if he was working to win over voters or just going for a spoiler.
