Shadowlessville

How odd a man
such as Crockery
dictate from a powerless
broken seat, attempts
relevance through
repetitive mumble
disguised as poetry.

The hopeless dope continues,
through workless days,
to dupe his way past empty
mornings believing all wait
to visit his scribbles
as even his supporters
look the other way
in an attempt to declare
victory no matter
the dead corpses
that inhabit Shadowlessville.

How odd a man
such as Snoozbach,
does dictate the way
life should unfold
around a campfire,
serenaded by the
strings of a fellow nothing,
stinking of smoke
as the fish bones of last night's
catch, join empty wine bottles
and excrement
forcing hardy raccoons
to scamper to a place
of safety.

And from afar
comes the white knight
Sir Dancealot,
whose brilliance
turns simplicity
into a bowl of reheated mush,
attempting, through distorted
truths, to unravel the narcissistic
ramblings of those
who's lives are littered
with death and broken
promises to the gullible --
some family by name
and some designated
lovers where no love
existed but in the minds
of the hopeless.

A new year looms
but there will be nothing new
here, to celebrate.
