I watched:

WE ARE THE 80'S

WE ARE THE 80'S

WE ARE THE 80'S

HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS:
"Mystery of Planet 9". Examining a ninth planet that may be on the
outer edge of the solar system. Scientists speculate that it could be
10 times the size of Earth and have moons capable of hosting life.

HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS:
"The Universe's Deadliest". The deadliest spots in the cosmos are explored.
For some reason, Buster made an appearance several times.

HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS:
"Black Holes: The Secret Origin". How did supermassive black holes
with mass of millions of sol-masses grow so large?

THE LOVE BOAT:
"Ship of Ghouls".Happy Halloween!
Gary Collins and his wife urge their little boy to stop lying after
telling various crew members that a woman was jumping off the ship (she
was posing for a photo, but really, is climbing on the rail
disallowed?); a man was throttling a woman (they were making out in the
hall, but really, is that appropriate?); and his father is a spy. Of
course, no one believes him when he really sees a woman about to jump
ship, so he tells her a whopper about his mother overdosing on pills to
get her to chnage her mind.
A friend of Julie's who used to be a model before a disfiguring
accident that left her with a scar on her cheek (maybe both) takes a
cruise and mopes about it even though Gopher and Doctor Bricker are
constantly fighting over her. OK, I guess that would be a bit depressing
if they were the only men on the ship paying attention to you. At the
ship's lame Halloween party, she misunderstands a conversation between
Gopher, Julie, and Doctor Bricker bickering over her (didn't the Captain
forbid this earlier?) and decides to jump ship but is dissauded by a
little boy who lies about his mother overdosing on pills.
Vincent Price plays an illusionist (more like a mesmerist) who fails
to notice he's neglecting his fiance. Hey! It's the wife from "What's
in the Box?" on THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

KRAPOPOLIS:
"Prometheus". Tyrannis and Hippocampus release the only god they like,
Prometheus, from his eternity on the rock, only to find he's friends with
Deliria. Shlub takes Stupendous to the cyclopes island to find her dad.

FAMILY GUY:
"Supermarket Pete". With the brewery under construction, Lois implores Peter
to take a new job, but grows irate when he begins to work at the grocery
store. Meanwhile, armed with his police stories, Joe and Brian team up to
write their own true crime novel.

What did you watch?

Let's go Brandon!

and the Chargers weren't even playing, so I didn't get through a lot:

soaps: GH - Fri's ep. This was pretty boring. Sonny tells a bunch of
people he's leaving town to elope with Nina, and asks Michael and Willow
to come too, and then they hem and haw about having to go off with
"evol" Nina. Evol! Charlotte seems to want Valentin and Nina back
together. Meh.

football - Did not pay much attention, as the Chiefs got past the Vikings.
In the evening game, the 49ers eventually manhandled the Cowboys to
remain undefeated.

Foundation (Apple TV+) - "The Sighted and the Seen" (ep. #2.5). Well,
IIRC, at least this part is from the books! - Hari, Gaal and Salvor head
to Ignis to set up the "Second Foundation", and Salvor is at first
conned by a telepath/mentalist. They are all taken captive, and
eventually meet the telepath in charge, Tellem Bond (not from the
books?), who seems to know of Hari's plans for a Second Foundation
(which explicitly includes the telepaths) and staunchly opposes them in
secret... Meanwhile, Queen Sareth continues to investigate, this time
the assassination attempt (which it appears she was in fact behind), and
quarrels with Brother Day, while also discovering that Demerzel is a
robot(!). And Brothers Dusk and Dawn come to believe that their memories
are being tampered with.

The Venice Murders (Lifetime) - I was tired enough that I didn't even
finish this, but I got far enough in the find out that this more a
"kidnapping for ransom" flick than some kind of "serial killer" flick!
And if Sophie Hopkins is a British actress, she fakes an American accent
extremely well (no British accent slipped in there that I could hear!) -
too bad she has a hideous tattoo on one arm... :|

You yourself wrote on IMDb:

Sophie is an actress best known for playing April Maclean in BBC's Doctor
Who Spin off 'Class' (BBC & BBC America). Born Sophie Lisa Hopkins in
Singapore, Sophie grew up in the Yorkshire Wolds, East Riding of Yorkshire.
She trained with Identity School of Acting (IDSA) in London. She currently
lives in London, U.K.

As for the Doctor Who spinoff, I never even heard of it and not even the
miracle of the Amazon fire stick. Can bring it to me free:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5079788/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

As for tattoos, Mr. Google is overwhelmed with hits for actress, Katie
Hopkins, who is just covered with the damn things.

The Walking Dead: Dead City S1E06 'Doma Smo'
"Tensions between Maggie and Negan come to a head; Ginny's search
continues; questions arise around Armstrong's path forward."

I have a theory! And no, its not bunnies. The virus that turns
everyone into zombies turns most people into psychopaths before killing
them.

Well, I enjoyed the first Walking Dead show's early seasons when it was
about surviving the end of the world. The later seasons, where is
started being surviving other survivors trying to finish the world, not
so much but I stuck it out to the end. The second show, Fear the
Walking Dead, gave up on after the first season. The characters were
simply too stupid to live. And the spots I've seen for it since gave
the impression it was more crazies trying to finish humanity off. This?
The Walking Dead has become like a nightmare version of the Mad Max
world with no heroes to root for, just psychopathic crazies all around.
After Dead City, I'm done. Deleted the Darryl Dixon series unwatched
and won't be coming back to the franchise. Too many crazies in the real
world for me to want to watch shows that just amplify that.

------------------

I also watched 'Stargate: Origins'. A downloaded from a dark corner 1
hour 44 minute compilation of the web series. I think the best way to
describe it is ... low budget. And I'll leave it at that.

--
I've done good in this world. Now I'm tired and just want to be a cranky
dirty old man.

I put this watch list of Woody Allen/Jim Carey movies together a long
time ago once I noticed I had all of these (Woody Allen) movies sitting
in the shrinkwrap unwatched. Then I kept moving the watch date back
over and over again. Well, I finally forced myself to watch:

Sleeper (blu-ray) - 1973 sci-fi comedy written, directed by, and
starring Woody Allen as a man from 1973 who is a cryogenically frozen
and awoken in the year 2173 by scientist who hope to use them in their
war against a dictatorship that has taken over society. Diane Keaton
co-stars as a ditzy artist who gets roped into the rebellion by Allen.
The movie holds up very well.

The Purple Rose of Cairo (blu-ray) 1985 fantasy written and directed by
Woody Allen starring Mia Farrow as a waitress married to an abusive
husband (Danny Aiello) during the Great Depression. She seeks comfort
in going to see the same movie over and over until one day the character
from the movie (Jeff Daniels) steps off the screen into the real world.
He romances Farrow while the studio and real world actor (Jeff Daniels)
panic about the implications of a fictional character in the real world.
I used to watch this movie all the time on TV when I was a kid. It
holds up very well.

Midnight in Paris (blu-ray) 2011 fantasy written and directed by Woody
Allen starring Owen Wilson as a screenwriter visiting Paris with his
fiance. One night while out on the town a car magically appears
prompting Wilson to get in. Wilson gets in and the car drives off and
when he gets out he's in the 1920s where he encounters famous
writers/artists (played by various celebrities). He keeps going out
each night and being transported to the past where he wines and dines
with historical figures. Meanwhile his fiance starts to suspect
something is up. I don't think I've watched this since seeing it in the
theater. It's OK.

Man on the Moon (blu-ray) 1999 biopic about Andy Kaufman (Jim Carrey)
The movie is loaded with cameos from the real celebrities who worked
with Kaufman. The movie holds up very well.

The Truman Show (4K disc) 1998 dramedy(?) starring Jim Carrey as a man
who has spent his entire life secretly being watched by people as part
of his own reality TV show. He finally starts to realize something is
not right with the world, but when he tries to escape the shows producer
(Ed Harris) will do anything to hide the truth from him and keep him
there. The movie holds up great. I never noticed before but "Pig
Vomit" costars with Carrey in both this and "Man on the Moon."

Billions - "Game Theory Optimal" - Right after watching "Pig Vomit" in
"Man on the Moon" and "The Truman Show" he popped up yet again in this.
Mr. Vomit confesses his various crimes as he contemplates framing
someone for a crime for the greater good. Meanwhile Prince is brought
up to speed on what his underlings have been up to.

I forgot to mention this from the other day, I watched:

Quantum Leap - "This Took Too Long!" - Season 2 premier. Ben Leaps into
the body of a soldier who along with some other misfit soldiers are shot
down in Russia while transporting top secret material. I'm not sure if
they ever gave a year, but my guess is mid to late 70s. They have to
work together to get rescued. I'm being a little bit vague to avoid
spoilers, but it was a pretty good premier.

Then my DVR decided to almost fill up by rerecording the entire first
season off of SyFy because SyFy decided to code those episodes as "new."

Same problem here. Very annoying. I don't think it was a mistake; I
think it was a ploy to force people to record the series.

Low budget doesn’t have to mean rancid onion of stupidity. Deeply stupid
writers and directors, however does.

How was the picture quality and what was the resolution?

There were problems with the story but that wasn't surprising
considering that is was effectively an oversized budget fan-fic flick.
The Gou'ald costumes were ... ummm ... no comment.

720x360. Quality? I'm not the connoisseur some of you are but I didn't
notice any issue with how it was filmed (as opposed to _what_ was filmed).

The reason I asked was some of the ads, for it said it was in 4K. But those
ads vanished shortly there after. If we ever find an actual 4K version of
it, we can make Ian watch it.

I still can’t get past 1939 16 mm cameras that shoot sound and auto develop
the film. Not to mention, apparently holding unlimited amounts of said
film.

You would think filmmakers would know better about their own past and
industry.

There’s a lot of room for blame in this “movie“

Like I said, fan-fic flick. :) Also I didn't see anything to indicate
the camera was developing the film. We had shots where the audience is
looking thru the 16mm as she was filming but nothing about her showing
those films during the movie. The Nazis did bring some propaganda films
with them and showed those to the Gau'old.

I've done good in this world. Now I'm tired and just want to be a cranky

They did that shit during the pandemic. Annoying as fuck.
