That is pretty much the exact sentiment that the West had towards
Czechoslovakia in 1938 so they let Hitler slice off the Sudetenland
(the portion that had significant German population AND many of the key
defensive measures the Czechs had to prevent German aggression) without
even giving the Czechs any say in the matter. Then, when Hitler
occupied the rest a few months later, the West said nothing at all and
just kept its fingers crossed that this really WAS Hitler's last
territory grab in Europe.

We all know how THAT turned out. Or maybe I should say those of us who
have read history books know how that turned out; there are a lot of
ignoramuses that know nothing about WWII. Are you one of them?

That's an argument that the West should have done something immediately
to thwart Putin's aggression in Georgia and in Ukraine when he first
grabbed Crimea.

Yes it is. But apparently Bush (wrt Georgia) and Obama (wrt Crimea)
didn't see the historical parallels or didn't prioritize them.
