done more to rehabilitate Hamas than all the endless recitations of
their grievances. After all, it gives the impression that there may be
a few decent human beings among them. Then again, it was more
likely done as damage control over the huge hit their image has taken
since Oct. 7 than out of any genuine decency.

I think it shows there is division among Hamas on how to handle
Israel. So we have some that think killing Israeli citizens and
burning children to death is a good approach. Others think kidnapping
Israeli citizens and holding them hostage is a good approach. Neither
one is going to win them any favor even if they didn't beat the
hostages to death before returning them.
