Hey, thanks for asking!

The new Fraser S01E04. Fraser cooks for the fire house. Worst episode yet.
For some reason they thought it would be funny to make the moronic
firefighters, actually educated and cultured. For instance, moose is Named
for chocolate mousse, his dessert cooking specialty. Which means that
Freddie is alone in being an idiot. Also, the rescue of the guy stuck in
the doggie door made no sense. Where does the door He’s stuck in go to
given that, it’s an apartment and they came in the exterior door? And
nobody actually went around to the outside before thinking about
chainsawing the door. Nobody thought about taking the door off its hinges.
Nobody thought.

I would’ve watched the new episode of Loki, but it still hadn’t dropped
when I fell asleep.

SOYLENT GREEN
On the TCM. Hadn’t seen this in a long time. Post Mankiewicz had to do his
best to ruin it by blabbering about how it’s all come true and global
warming is real yada yada yada.

I cleared a bunch of other stuff off the DVR, but the “recently deleted“
section got overly ambitious on me and purged itself so I can’t tell you
what the contents were.

Today and Saturday ion is having marathons of Halloween episodes of old
series, including Hawaii Five-0 (today) and NCIS 0WM on the weekend.

LOKI still hasn’t dropped. Glad I didn’t wait up for it.

Did you ever finish watching Foundation?

I watched:

Welcome to Wrexham - "Gresford" and "Yn Codi" - Both episodes were
pretty much background noise.

Survivor - Not much to say about this, but I continue to be annoyed with
how they edit this show to feature people talking about voting out
person A vs B then get to tribal counsel and they vote out C. Then
there was one guy who is clearly having some sort of medical incident
and even saying out loud he's worried about being removed from the game
due to it. They could have at least showed a medical team examining him
and giving him a clear bill of health. Presumably that's what happened
off camera. I hope...

Finished the final 2 episodes before tackling "Wheel of Time" (and then
"The Continental) - pretty sure I did at least a quick review of the
final two S2 episodes in a WDYW? thread.

Now I'm taking a streaming "break" - Will probably start tackling
"Ahsoka" on Friday or Saturday.

To complete the "trifecta", they also needed to play "Planet of the Apes"...

Mankiewicz said it was dystopian Charlton Heston films. But they were
running them in reverse chronological order.

That’s what they did. In reverse order of release:

Green
Omega.
Apes.

There is a new Apes movie, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" coming
out next year. It's already filmed but I haven't seen or heard any
advertising for it yet. I guess because they are waiting for the
release date to get closer.

I'm am eagerly looking forward to marathoning all of them next year. I
haven't watched the original Apes since 2017. And last time I watched,
I skipped the Tim Burton remake, so even longer for that one. I don't
even know when I last watched that version so it's definitely on the
watch list too.

Finally, Loki dropped. Nothing happened that mattered and not much that
made sense. I refuse to believe the writers know what they’re thinking at
this point. In fact, it’s looking like this is another DEFILING GRAVITY
series, where somebody wrote the beginning and end and random people are
just filling in stuff in the middle that doesn’t have to match the
continuity at all.

And, looking at the writing credits on IMDb… It looks like I’m right. The
first and last episode are mainly written by Eric Martin, who had some
input into the second and second to last, and the middle two episodes were
just knocked out by some of the writing room deadwood required by WGA
agreements.

Meanwhile Robin reports that STUPIDMAN & LAMEASS took the opportunity of
the strike ending to fire three of their writers, including apparently the
one that did all the work. So the show has boils down to just the four
members of the Kent family, the deadwood staff writers, 1/5 of its budget,
and about 2/3 as many episodes in a season.

This is rapidly turning into AIRWOLF, season four.

If memory serves, Disparu said in a podcast that the writers' strike ended
with a mandatory number of writers that depended on the size of the cast or
something like that and it would result in people losing their jobs.

Maybe that’s why superman got to fire some people. It’s worth it to get rid
of the cast if you can get rid of the riders as well.
