Unlike that other thread I started, in which a woman entering a phone
number accidentally entered it into the tip field and couldn't get the
store to reverse the charge to her credit card, this story has a
different ending.

The owner of a bridal shop has been arrested and charged with theft for
accepting a $2310 down payment for a gown to be delivered in time for a
late summer wedding. The owner promptly closed the business, and then
refused to take calls from the customer. Later, it was discovered that
she couldn't have delivered the dress as the manufacturer had closed the
shop's account a year earlier for lack of payment.

It sure is nice that cops look into fraud from time to time.
