The Palestinians apparently have the right to do whatever the fuck they
want to do, at least in Toronto. They can issue death threats in front
of police officers and absolutely nothing happens. They can block
public roads and the police bring coffee and doughnuts. They can
disrupt a public skating party and nobody does anything.

The politicians have obviously tallied the votes and know that there
are more Muslims than Jews in this country now so the Muslims can
apparently do what they want now with impunity. Well, maybe not
*anything* but we have yet to see how much more the police will
tolerate. If they actually assault someone who argues with them, will
the police charge them? Or just stand by and do their best Sgt. Schultz
impression? ("I know nothing! I see NOTHING!)

That's disgraceful but given Olivia Chow is mayor of Toronto hardly
unlikely.

(For the benefit of non-Canadians, Chow's late husband was leader of
Canada's federal socialist part and she had a House of Commons seat in
her own right. Socialism in Canada is not what it once was - one of my
late wife's best friends was part of a family with Ed Broadbent - the
former socialist leader - as a family friend and had met Broadbent at
a previous family dinner both had been invited to and she said he
seemed far less over the top radical than his public image portrayed
him as - not so Layton and Chow!)
